not one pro gun comment is based on getting to the roots of the problem. The problem is based on fear, greed and mental illness. We are, as a nation, so afraid of our own shadow we must arm ourselves like crazy. I am not against rifles for hunting or home defense. THAT isnt the issue on the plate in todays world. I wont go into fairy tale 'what ifs..?" but I will go into facts. No one needs an assault rifle. The only valid reason is "if the government tries to control or abuse us"...got news for you...if they want your ass, or anyones...they got it. Shoot away at an armored vehical...good luck. This is the 'fear' part. The TRUE line of defense is protest. If everyone stopped working...the wheels of capitalism would grind to a stop. NO GUN can do THAT. Without income, governments cant function. Guns for defense against tyranny is a joke. If the 3rd largest army in the world (Iraq '91) couldnt even slow down our forces...Gomer with a assault rifle has no hope....no, this isnt red dawn...lol. Greed: The NRA is a group of gun makers and lobbiests. They will lie cheat and steal to continue the hot market of gun sales. The speech last week was a silly joke, at best. Out of touch dosnt come close to describing the NRA. The will stand by while hundreds more men women and childred are killed and NEVER propose anything of value. To address mental problems of gun owners AND their families is a valid solution. BUT...just watch the lobbiests come out "that takes away our rights!"..
No, it is a solution in line with the Declaration of Independence. "life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness"....It is the purpose of government to secure these fundemental rights. Guns ended life, liberty and happiness for millions of families since this was written.

To be clear...Im not against the 2nd amendment. If you want a rilfle to hunt, fantastic. If you qualify for a handgun and pass a mental/background check...more power to ya.
WHY do we need semi autos with 30 shot clips? WHY do we need gun shows selling illegally every day? WHY NOT purpose full background checks for owners and their families?
