I can't afford propane. They have a minimum order of 250 gallons at almost $2 a gallon that is $500 dollars. I have a wood stove but this morning even keeping the fire burning it was 38 degrees F in my house. Still more cold coming. I could use help.

My mother in law has the same problem, but fortunately we live in Texas so we only see bad winter weather a couple of times a year, like yesterday.

I'm a 52 year old housewife who has worked in social service agencies for 20+ years assisting the mentally ill, chemically dependant, seniors and rural children. I no longer work due to a disability but receive no income. My husband is a disabled veteran who served in desert storm. We rescue animals in terrible condition and give them forever homes. I recently laid to rest my 19 year old daschund and 16 year old shepherd. We have five rescued dogs, one cat, 6 birds (from a blind canary to a macaw being kept in a dog cage), two rats, one iguana and one fish. That's all the room and money I have. I don't know technology too much and don't know how to do an account but I lurk on GLP all the time. Been doing it for years now. If you pick me, I would like to sponser one adoption from our local shelter for someone else and buy my babies some food, toys, and things I normally wouldn't be able to afford. We have two dogs we adopted from a shelter, two bought from backyard breeders and one starving on the street with mange. (He's fat and happy now.) We advocate for spay/neutering programs and push for shelter adoptions. Anyway, that's my story.

Crazy cold here, last night -4F right now 12F. Running the wood stove 24 hrs a day still can't get it above 50F in here. Now I'm concerned about the wood supply. It's usually cold here but not this cold for this long.

One of these days, I will be in a position to do the same. I always do what I can, and I usually keep my giving secret as to not brag - but I'll say this year I am proud of what I've been able to give away. It's been much more than I received, and I am thankful for that. It truly makes me feel blessed.

As for your offer, money could be a huge help for me. I suppose this is where I beg and do my best to buy pity? Sad to admit such, but I have a good purpose for anything you can spare.

Aside from the usual poverty bs, such as me going from high-middle class wealth (attained myself) to where I am now - sleeping on a hard wood floor of my grandparents house, driving a 30 year old pickup truck, ugly primer brown, that eats through tires once a month, $10k+ in CC debt and student loan debt, personal debts I wish I could repay.. etc..

I am 25. Any money I get will be spent selfishly on my band. It is my love and joy. My whole week can go to shit but if I have jam day, I am all saved. My situation is very similar to that of my 2 bandmates, and we are best friends.

Any money I get will go towards buying a new cabinet for my bass. I joined this band 8 months ago with no equipment, and have been sleeping on this wood floor to save and buy equipment. I managed to buy a beautiful used Schecter Bass, and then I bought a used bass amp on guitarcenter, I was blessed to receive a full working cabinet with the HEAD and speaker. This has helped tremendously in the rehearsal stage - but the problem is, and why the head was sold as a head only, is that the speaker is blown and sounds rather like shit.

So, money = speaker = make noise = show my love and give back to the community and world.

My band takes this very seriously, we have a LOT of drive and ambition, and our music is all original - it's not a copy of any modern day BS, but more influenced by the 90's rock Jazz, classic rock, and modern metal music.

oh, and reading through the thread a bit about people being unemployed - well, before I lost everything I had I was unemployed too. So I got a job at McDonald's - I worked there for 2 years. Two god damn years of that joke ass bullshit scum push buttons pull levers don't ever ask questions suck cock job.

I hated it, but would do it again if I didn't have any choices. Right now, I am in telemarketing and slowly picking myself back up.

yea dude.. we speak dutch here lol we were colonized by the dutchies along time ago.. and we still controlled somewhat by them. but pretty much autonomous.

the thing is i have been battling with mental illness.. had a few brakedowns .. its been kinda rough.

lol i'm white skinned pretty much.. and can become light brown by tanning :P my dad is actually irish/dutch descendant and my mom is native aruban and some spanish i think.. thanks for the good wishes I also wish u happy holidays.
