First off, you don't know that you didn't ask to be born. There are quite a few theories that we actually do decide just where and when and into what circumstances we are born on a soul level.

As to the point of your life, perhaps it is just to live and grow and experience it.

Look inward and feel your own spirt.

Perhaps in time you will find or create your own purpose or destiny in life. On the other hand, you might just live out your life never knowing why you were here.

Just know that life is an ever unfolding thing.

Yes, most of us do have to work to live and have the necessities of food, shelter, and clothing. It does go with the territory.

If you think of yourself as a drudge, so you will become. If you think of your job as a slave job, then get a better one or at least get the skills to get a better one.

You see yourself as a "parasite" and it is up to you to decide to do something about that. Infants are "parasites" yet most are loved.

Old people are "parasites" yet most have some level of wisdom that only comes from living a full life.

If you do not want to be a parasite, find a way to contribute to the world in your own environment....one person at a time.

The horses here, are the time of your life, and the saddled one is the "thing you came here to do". Its possible that you still didn't see your saddled horse yet, but it is coming and you'll have to hurry up to get it and ride.
Life, is a mission, a time of being usefull to somebody(even yourself). Everybody is meant to do something, the thing is(quoting Bono), you still haven't found what you're looking for. Don't worry, some people take a lot of time, but some don't. If you didn't found what you're looking for, maybe you're looking in the wrong places.
The real problem, is that one don't know exactly what to look for, but you'll know whenever you found.

Lots of wishy washy ideas in this thread, of which none can be proven. The FACT is you are an animal designed to shit and reproduce, and that's about the culmination of your function. Unfortunately the brute is actually probably better off than the human at the moment.. we live such pathetic lives, it's embarresing.

People like to come up with lots of "spiritual" reasons, some with "buckle up" and just "soldier on", for continuing to exist. But it's all self-serving and unproven manmade nonsense.

Fact is there isn't much point to your life. Or mine. We just don't matter. As you can guess I often wonder if it is even worth sticking around given how society is declining, getting more draconian, and more expensive.

How the fuck is that shallow exactly. I stated facts, namely our biological function to fertilize and reproduce. There may be a spiritual reason/s but no one can prove that, no one bothers to try proving it. My position is one based upon observation.

I'm a man of science myself. I beliebe science and plain pure facts can explain most aspects of many things. The point is not everything is observable, even in science. Besides the rule to "prove" is two sided, you must prove something true, but using the opposite factors, you must be able to prove it false. (1 + 1 = 2) x (2 - 1 = 1). So, you can prove we are biological beings eating/reproducing/dying. About spiritual aspects, there are no "proves", but there are not "counter-proves" also, so, you cannot prove it right or wrong/true or false. It means that it is, so far, unverifiable. Remember, being 100% skeptic is the path to failure in science. Most of the things we are for sure today, were considered nonsense a century ago. Science, must adapt itself, what is considered true today, may be considered pure rubish tomorrow.
