Not inside to inside. It could also mean (Obvious Extinction). Asteroid 2012da14 will come 2.0E -4AU from earth according to JPL track. Thats ONLY FUCKING 18 MILES!!!!! THIS SHIT IS GONNA HIT........FUCK! Shall I correct your math for you or would you like to do it yourself? |

| Anonymous Coward User ID: 6476436 12/26/2012 12:48 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | wrong 20,990 miles precisely Although its size is not well determined, this near-Earth asteroid is thought to be about 45 meters in diameter. they even don't know how big it is but know how close or far will pass by, yeah right They know within a degree of certainty. It's not going from 45 meters to 3 miles. It's a small rock hurtling through space at an extremely fast speed. Of course the parameters won't be exact. They're close enough to know what would happen if it impacted, and also the likelihood of it impacting. |
| miabelieves User ID: 30428793 12/26/2012 12:57 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | On February 15, 2013, DA14 will pass no closer than 0.000181 AU (27,100 km; 16,800 mi) from the center-point of the Earth,[9] which is no closer to the Earth's surface than 3.2 Earth radii.[4] The nominal pass will be 0.00023 AU (34,000 km; 21,000 mi) from the center-point of the Earth.[9] This is potentially closer than satellites in geosynchronous orbit. The asteroid will not be visible to the naked eye.[4] Due to the uncertainty in the observation arc of 79 days, there is a small possibility that the asteroid will pass 0.00035 AU (52,000 km; 33,000 mi) from the Earth on February 15, 2013.[9] can someone who knows more explain why they keep saying "center point of the Earth" and what does that mean exactly. | Anonymous Coward User ID: 30253432 12/26/2012 01:06 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | They are simply saying due to uncertainty, the asteroid will pass somewhere between 16,800 and 33,000 miles from the "center of the earth", that being a uniform/common reference measuring point. 22,000 miles is their best guess as to the actual pass distance. I'm not an astronomer, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night. |

| Anonymous Coward User ID: 30882007 12/26/2012 01:25 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Thats close enough. Close enough to maybe nail a satelite and tug a little on the gravity and maybe get pulled in. Thats big enough that if it hit say a bid city could cause alot of damage. Maybe it will hit your house. I wanted to replay to ac30882007 just about the same thing LOL and if people think that 45 meter large "rock" isn't big enough than we have a huge problem (Houston) LOL How bizarre to add - it was edition on History ch. about destruction of Sodoma, where they found proofs that city and all surrounding area was destroyed by nuclear explosion 1700y.B.C., but not sure was it bomb (lol) or asteroid - most likely. |

I'm 45 an seen it |
