wrong 20,990 miles precisely  Although its size is not well determined, this near-Earth asteroid is thought to be about 45 meters in diameter. they even don't know how big it is but know how close or far will pass by, yeah right  They know within a degree of certainty. It's not going from 45 meters to 3 miles. It's a small rock hurtling through space at an extremely fast speed. Of course the parameters won't be exact. They're close enough to know what would happen if it impacted, and also the likelihood of it impacting.
