Enough to cover most, if not all, of your mortgage. You are a drain to our society. There are jobs. I moved to a new town and had 3 job offers within 30 days. Face it, you purposefully did not look or try to get a job at... McDonalds, Pizza Hut, Call center work, Janitor, etc. You would of been hired by now. You have no one to blame but yourself. |

He Is Risen Indeed User ID: 28631986 United States 12/26/2012 12:43 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I think the good ones are being kicked to the curb and the "bad" ones are being given the royal treatment. I've been out of work on and off in crappy jobs and treated horribly even though I'm a great worker and follow rules and do the right things since the first election between Bush and Obama. I am a patriot and worked hard to try and convince everyone to vote for the republicans because I feel that Obama is the antichrist. I didn't tell people he is the antichrist but its what I think. I'm a Christian and a good person just like you and I don't understand how the last 3 jobs I've had I got attacked and treated badly at where I was a WAY better employee than the other people who treated me badly. I work well with others and I just don't get it. I pray for you that you find the job you need. Its truly frightening being out of work. I've never had so much trouble in my life with it. Its all happened under Obama. Hang in there. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 961432 United States 12/26/2012 12:43 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I think this is structural. The traditional means of securing a future for yourself and family are gone, unless you are in the top 1% (not a 99%er just noting a reality). College degrees are not getting the jobs people anticipated (well maybe expected) and the majority of jobs are now part time minimum wage jobs, most of which are going to the age group 55 and older. That group, the baby boomers, was like a swarm of locusts that descended on the land consuming everything in sight. They did it through debt, we ignored the offshoring of our industry for over 40 years and made up the difference in debt (promises). The remaining public servants have increased their own salaries almost double in the past ten years, double! Basically, we can't afford all these promises, expectations and delusions our economy projected for the past 40 years since the debt or economic toxic waste is finally taking its toll on the main thing needed to keep it all going, growth. All the so called growth you see reported is in reality debt. Debt that will never be paid off. I'm not trying to discourage you OP but sometimes we have to face reality. My (former) career was based on public spending (infrastructure) and I realize now that our government doesn't have the money to rebuild what needs to be rebuilt, and the little and dwindling credit potential they have is being directed into the financial sector (banks) to keep a dying status quo siphoning off the little remaining wealth of our nation. Again, I don't want to depress you but I also think we need to face reality and from that perhaps we can see a course of action through the coming years. What have known for the past 2-3 generations is coming to an end. |

Sorry to hear you say the things you have, i will get over it trust me. Only a real loser comments as you have! I guess you are right OP, that I am a loser, since I have lost everything I had. Is that because I am inherently a loser or because circumstances beyond my control took what I had? Honestly I don't know for sure, but I do know that those who succeeded where either very fortunate or they had to do things on their job that their conscience needed to repress or ignore. I was just addressing your concerns on the corruption you saw in your own field, I saw the same in my field but my conscience always prevented me from going with the crowd of "successful" people, thus I was sort of an outsider. The people that do succeed are lucky enough to get that stable job, but must go along with the herd who's own morality decays day by day. If you are ignoring the macro trends that I first posted, and want to think that the system isn't broken beyond repair that is your own prerogative, however I challenge you to have a look at the level of debt and increasing dependence on a state system that can never hope of keeping all its promises. The debt must be paid, there is no money to pay it so the only other payment is bankruptcy. That is how the system is designed and that is how it will function. We are morally and monetarily broke. |

Just look at the exponential rise in college debt/loans over the past 4-5 years. The modern economy is very, very specialized. And to make it worse, the specialization that has evolved often undermines its own specialization, eventually putting itself out of work. For instance, technological innovation destroys 90% of the jobs in the industries it revolutionizes. Even those cheap slave labor camps in China manufacturing your I-Pods will soon be outfitted with complete robotics so even 3rd world slave labor is coming to an end. When the economy becomes so specialized and that specialization eventually eliminates the specialized jobs via technological innovation all those millions of displaced workers need to be retrained. But retrained for what? Service jobs? Your point is ludicrous. Our economy is based on 70% consumption. You think that will hold up for long, that is transitioning someone(s) who held middle class jobs and earnings with associated lifestyle, to essentially part-time minimum wage earnings potential? You are blinded by the current Keynesian thought that eventually massive debt spending will pull us out of our slump and set us on course to spend all we gained again. Delusional. |

No politician can fix the problems this nation faces, those that continue to support the left or right are asleep and in denial. And yes i graduated the academy in my forty's, got a problem with that? I have always had a job since i was 15 years of age. We change jobs through the course of our lives looking for fulfillment, something wrong with this? You can laugh and tee hee all the more pal, it is telling of your character! I made $10.00 and hour working as a part time Police Officer while working full time in a bank. Before this i was a full time Sheriffs Deputy. I woke up sometime ago to the banksters and politicians. Bank of America and Wells Fargo can launder 327 billion dollars in drug money, and no one goes to jail, MF global can steal money from customers and that ok. Maybe that is acceptable to society today, that ole cant see it from my house. I want to work and will. This is a forum not a courtroom! |

It appears that police forces don't want real men who want to be peace officers. They increasingly want thugs on steroids who like to control the public. You can thank our federal government for creating militarized police. One big contributor to the downfall of this nation is the fact that so many people will abuse, harm and even kill others for a paycheck. I hope things go well for you...we need more people with principals. |
