It isnt about the wedding, the dress, the jewelry, etc. It isnt about cramming hundreds of people you barely know into a church and counting the cash you haul in the next day. Yes, they all want fairy tale weddings, but do even half of them want a lifetime of monogamy, compromise and everything else a MARRIAGE entails?? We raise girls to have a very unrealistic view of life in the real world. I did not havea wedding - I had a small and intimate gathering of only the closest family and friends, walked down the aisle to my favorite song, in a dress i made, holding flowers I made, and not caring one whit about any of it - so long as my sweetheart was waiting for me! I will say to ttown girl - dont listen to any on here that go on about the futility of marriage, the pointlessness of it, the ones telling you to stay single and enjoy it. Might work for a few, but in reality a life spent alone is hollow. A life spent working on a friendship with a partner is rewarding if you choose well. Dont look for mr handsome, mr rich, look for someone that you know you can be comfortable with, whose priorities and beliefs are along similar lines to your own. Work hard at it every day, and reap the rewards when they are there. There are emotional, financial and even health benefits to being married. it takes work, but if you are eager to put in the time and effort, you will have gained something you will treasure for the rest of your life. :malefav: I love this place!! |

Quoting: Only Me Have you explored your reasons for this? I'm curious because a lot of times things look better in our fantasies than they turn out to be in reality ... you should be very careful here. No I don't think she has. There are almost no men who would be happy about taking on another man's children. Men are like children themselves, in that they crave to get all of your attention. A man would become jealous and resentful of your kids, and expect you to put him first. You would find yourself with an extra child to take care of. It looks like you want someone to take the burden off your shoulders from time to time, but it wouldn't likely turn out that way. You'll just be doing extra work. yep not all men avoid another mans children. I have two precious children form a previous marriage. My husband met them and fell in love. It may not be for every man, but they do exist. My husband always wanted to have a family, he always wanted to be a father, and he doesnt care that he is their step-dad and not their biological father. :malefav: I love this place!! |
