I will give the next three gifts of $333.33. I have sent an email to Trinity informing him. I'd like to find out from Trinity and Brief who has been chosen so we don't duplicate.

I am not doing this for any reason other than I feel compelled to do so and there are more than 6 people who are in need...I sincerely want to help. Please accept this for what it is.

Erm .... Mine is a bit frivolous, but I thought I post it again. It's no biggie, really, it's just that having not been able to see my husband in 2 and half years, I really want the few weeks we'll have together to be special. It's only the 2nd of 5 anniversaries we have spent together and we only got to live together 11 months as a married couple before they shipped him back home to the Netherlands. On a technicality, mind you. I sent a short form BC instead of a long form even though there is *nothing* in the documentation that says there is more than one kind of a BC. All they had to do is ask and we would have sent it right away, but after pulling out the offending document, our perfect stack of documents was "incomplete" and (and I quote), "...sending incomplete evidence to USCIS constitutes a request for immediate decision and, since the documentation required is missing from your application, your request is denied."

Jerks. They kept all of our filing fee money, though.

Anywho... here's my silly post from the first thread. I feel as embarrassed posting this now as I did then, but here it is:

Oh jeebus... I'm embarrassed to ask...but...

My husband is flying in from the Netherlands on Jan 12th and will be here till Feb 9th. We haven't seen each other in 2.5 years. We will be celebrating our 5th wedding anniversary on February 1st. It's only the second anniversary we have ever spent together.

Gosh...this is such a long story. Shorter is better. Basically, legal immigration isn't going to work for us. I have to make at least 30k a year to sponsor him and disability just doesn't cover that sort of thing. We're working on getting me moved there, but the process is long thanks to this global financial disaster. He has finally landed a job which meets the requirements for Dutch sponsorship of an alien relative. I think a divine source had a hand in that because people simply aren't hiring 46 year old workers when they can get one fresh out of college for less than what they pay my husband and for a hell of a lot longer mileage. So we were lucky. It isn't a high paying job, but it is enough and we are happy with that.

I would just like to be able to afford to show him the Texas State capitol, have a nice anniversary dinner, maybe stay overnight in a hotel w/cable TV and room service :) I don't know. I'm just happy he has a job with annual vacation time so we can see each other at least once a year now. We're saving our pennies and saying our prayers. We aren't the only married couple in the world who is having "legal" immigration problems. It's just so hard to be parted. I don't even own a couch or another chair for him to sit on when he gets here :/ But he'll be here and we'll make do :)

Merry Christmas, Trin and Mo! Love is the greatest thing in the world.

P.S. I just wanted to add that I am trying to get off of disability and back to work. Since I did research as my career before I became disabled, I decided to start a business where I can do this from home since I'm kind of stuck here without a driver and what not. I am very hopeful that this year will bring me many clients and it is a job that I can do from anywhere in the world so long as I have a computer and an internet connection. I'm really excited about my business. I think technology simply rocks!
