My story is quite the long one. I've been visiting GLP for quite some time and find it comforting. It's always been a place I can call home. I've been trying to figure things out about my life and find it frustrating to know there are so many others who go through rough times. Before I tell my story I just want to say to everyone that you are worth something not only to yourself but to people like me, I see you all as family. We all expect such miracles from life and one day the light will shine on each of us, no matter the hardships. It will make us stronger.

Three years ago I moved from NY. I was living comfortably in my parent's apartment, they gave me food, shelter, and love. One thing that frustrated me was that they didn't believe in me or my potential. I found myself sitting in my room wondering if there was something more to life. I made the choice to leave and start from scratch. I packed my bookbag and left with $1000 that I saved from selling all my stuff. My parents cried and tried to convince me to stay but I wanted to accomplish something with my life. I bought an airplane ticket to NC and rented a room that someone was offering for $120 a week. I am currently dorming and pursuing an elementary education degree. I'm in $10,000 in debt, but wouldn't regret anything. I'm happy knowing that with hard work I can make something work. The money your offering as a gift could help me save up for a car that I need right now. Even if I don't get it, I appreciate your gratitude and wish you the best in life. So many try their hardest in life, but never seem to get it right.
