Re: Let's do 3 more $333.33 Christmas gifts-please tell me your story or nominate others as I have not kept track of everyone
I am thankful for this second chance as I didn't apply originally because I felt God telling me not to tell anyone before and on Christmas day, just how bad things are for us. I didn't want people feeling sorry for us, so I put a big smile on my face and carried on.

Some of you may have noticed that I haven't been on here as often as I used to be. The week after Thanksgiving, what was left of my world fell completely apart.

I am married to a man that is twenty-five years older then me. He has Alzheimer's and requires 24 hour a day care. On top of that his heart is giving out and he needs open heart surgery, he used to be able to at least take out the trash and enjoyed getting outside. Now that is not even possible.

Before his Alzheimer's completely took over he was able to pay the bills, or so I thought. The last week of November we received a letter from IRS. It appears that the year we sold our house he didn't show it on income taxes. Supposedly they sent letters explaining this, but as God is my witness I never saw them. That was six years ago, and we never made a cent on that house. He sold it to his oldest son, who he gave 50,000 for a downpayment. Pretty much all our retirement money was in that house. The son foreclosed on the house, and was never able to pay us back a dime.

Four years ago, when he was doing better, he went to a conservative website and shot his mouth off, as I do here, about OBummer. Somehow they got his name, and they came after him then threatening IRS stuff too. I thought that was settled. Do I have proof of that? No. But there were things that were just too coincidental.
I would like to help you if you
You may hear that they can only take 25% of a Social Security check, that is BS. They levied his two thousand dollar check for 1275.00. They gave us that information in a letter that we received the day before they did it. We now have to exist on 800.00 a month. We won't make it. Period.

I called a Tax Advocate from the IRS and she is working with me, but frankly she is new and doesn't have a clue. She is on vacation for Christmas now and won't be back until January 9th. She is hopeful that they will, because of his circumstances, put it in uncollectible status. There are no guarantees. We have no money to hire an attorney.

Since the end of last month I filed papers with the IRS for power of attorney, and I will be handling all his business now.

Some of you know that I lost my parents when we were all in an automobile accident when I was a child. I have no family, except my aunt left, and she has no money. I am an only child.

My husband had one sister who died two years ago.

On Christmas there were no gifts, except for my daughter who got a sweater and a few little things from her friends.

Just writing this has been a big breakthrough for me, as I don't like to tell anyone my troubles or ask for help.

When you live with someone with Alzheimer's you basically live alone. I have been strong, but this last situation is about to do me in… I have a deep abiding faith in God, if I didn't I don't know where I would be.

Thanks for this, whoever you choose, and more importantly thanks for listening GLP friends.

This is all very sad indeed to see all this need. I am so scared as to what times hold for all of us as the jobs keep crashing, wages fall to 1980's levels, food and gas costs soar, etc.....

But Brief, Trinity and Fire Walker are highly charitable people. May you be rewarded for your loving compassion on others.

We need to do this type of thing here all the time. For instance, we could start a donation center for cash, food and clothes for those needing such things like the person in Canada needing socks and sweaters... Just saying....

Since I turned 30, I'm now 38, I have encountered a shortage of 19 year old college girls...haven't run completely out yet but each year they are fewer than before...could we start a donation center for that too?
I never forgive and I never forget

I am a licensed firearm holder. I will, under protection of law, use lethal force if attacked.

Right i will start mine from the beginning ,in 2002 my wife passed away ,leaving me with 6 children too raise ,i didnt whinge or whine or claim benefits ,3 of my children are disabled ,badly, i tried really tried but ended up after 3 years with a nervous breakdown as my youngest daughter had microphthalmia so didn't know wether it was morning or night and i stayed up every night with her ,i didn't mind staying up because she used to scream all the way thru' the night and my other children had school the next day, so i stayed awake day and night until my body couldnt handle it any longer ,3 of my children who were disabled had to go into disability care for children with severe disablilities . I visited them often and gave presents every christmas and birthdays even tho i had to hitchhike the 230 miles many times due to lack of money ,my father passed away recently and he was the one who i tried too copy and he had scruples and honesty he was a gentleman ,i am in a low paid job and the only way i could get a black suit and tie for the funeral was too use the mortgage money the suit cost £79 then £10 for shoes and £8 for shirt and tie , it had an effect on me not being able too buy my childrens presents ,due to the charges put on my mortgage ,i am not a benefit scrounger and never have been, the job im in may be low paid but its work ,i receive just less than £1k a month and out of that i paid the mortgage ,the council tax, the electric, the gas, food etc, i need this honestly , this is me and this is embarrassing [link to www.thefreelibrary.com]

I will give the next three gifts of $333.33. I have sent an email to Trinity informing him. I'd like to find out from Trinity and Brief who has been chosen so we don't duplicate.

I am not doing this for any reason other than I feel compelled to do so and there are more than 6 people who are in need...I sincerely want to help. Please accept this for what it is.

I am the 4th person picked by FireWatch. I want to thank him for his kindness and generosity to me.

Two things happened to me because of this. First, my spirit of pride has been broken. Now I know that it's okay to tell others your problems and that God has His angels on earth to do His bidding..

Secondly, my faith has been restored. When you go through really hard times all alone, you begin to wonder if anyone really cares..now, thanks to FireWatch and the kind comments of some of the rest of you, I understand that there still are good people in this world.

Thanks again FireWatch!! I also want to thank Trinity who started this, and Brief who also opened his heart and billfold to help others, too!

Three good men!! God bless you all and Merry Christmas!

GLP is a Godsend for me, it helps me to forget my troubles, come on here and interact with others. For that I am always grateful!!

for you FireWatch:

2 Corinthians 9:6
Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. 7 Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. 8 And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work. 9 As it is written:

“They have freely scattered their gifts to the poor;
their righteousness endures forever.

Be ready for incredible blessings for you because you have been a cheerful giver. God will bless you abundantly and your righteousness will endure forever.

Jewels have been added to your crown...well done!

my family desperately needs the help. direct tv stole almost a thousand from my acct. thought we got it straightened out. bill was set for the 23rd of dec. they cut it again on the 14th for no reason and now want almost 500 from me. im not in arears on any payments, but because of this. im about to lose my home ,car and other bills are doubling up because now im stuck in the middle of having to pick which ones to pay first without getting anything cut off. x-mas sucked. bills before presents and all that. a boost of any kind would be a blessing.

Thanks for this, whoever you choose, and more importantly thanks for listening GLP friends.

for you FireWatch:

2 Corinthians 9:6
Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. 7 Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. 8 And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work. 9 As it is written:

“They have freely scattered their gifts to the poor;
their righteousness endures forever.

Be ready for incredible blessings for you because you have been a cheerful giver. God will bless you abundantly and your righteousness will endure forever.

Jewels have been added to your crown...well done!

I am in awe of the generosity I have seen here on GLP in these last few days - so awesome!

Wish I was in the position to help too right now, but I'm not. However, I do hope this is something that continues, and when things get better for me, I will gladly help someone who isn't picked.

You can file for an offer in compromise. I just did it this year because I am disabled and unable to pay the taxes I owed from last year. It's an excellent way to settle with the IRS. And you can offer any amount in compromise. IRS FORM 656. Easy to fill out.

i got married to a fellow GLPer on 12/21, but we were never able to afford a honeymoon.

it'd be nice to spend a night at a fancy hotel...it's nice to feel like everyone else, sometimes. everyone else gets a honeymoon...
