He concluded that infants born in winter or spring seasons, when birth mothers have decreased levels of vitamin D, are at an increased risk of developing schizophrenia.

Some say there is a xenophobic or, at the very least, biased-element in diagnoses of schizophrenia.

Yet the problem is consistent-take dark people, move them to places with less sun, and they have problems. But to suggest that those problems might have a biological basis is racist (pulls hair)

Remember the guy who raped a young man and was being led into court to face charges and got shot point blank in the side of the head by the victims Father?

Dad was faking talking on a public phone and when the cops walked the rapist past him he turned and put the gun to the side of the perv's head and popped him. The Father got a suspended sentence if I remember right.

This Father didn't talk all whiney ass about "hoping the guy finds redemption". And he didn't wait for the court to slap the jerk on the wrist. He fixed it so the guy wouldn't do it again himself.

Sadly, this dead kids father raised a boy who didn't know how to protect himself from being a victim. BE AWARE OF YOUR SURROUNDINGS, FOLLOW YOUR INSTINCTS AND WALK WITH CONFIDENCE. It works. I lived in the Silverlake/Echo park and Compton areas of Los Angeles (arguably some of the most violent neighborhoods in the US) for several years. And I'm still here typing this. (I'm a gun owner but I never carried, even in those "hoods")

Actually, the defendant's reaction was understandable to me. If I had just been given life in prison with no possibility of parole I would have gone shrieking berserk, too. I'm not saying he didn't deserve the sentence, just that I understand going crazy when you actually realize what the rest of your life is going to be like. The sentence was fair but hits like a brick.

Right, because no way would you expect a sentence that harsh to be handed down after you'd just murdered someone and then spent all of your court dates taunting the family.
