Drugs cause mood swings and brain damage.

or they can cause you to enjoy your life if used properly.

True but there is still some effect. NOt sure if it's the fact that I'm just getting "inactive" cannabinoids which somehow maybe contribute to the supply of "stored" inactive endocannabinoids or if it's the TERPENES in the weed... not sure but there is an effect I get when I eat the BUDS (not just leaf) raw and it actually may help with depersonalization that I get some probably either smoking it or altogether social anxiety.

Re: Weed cured my anxiety
weed actually does cure much of my anxiety though... but it's mostly when Im isolated. That's what high THC hybrids do to you though also..

it cures my anxiety more when I eat the bud but I dont buy my own weed, not much money. If I did I would just eat it when I needed it. So... instead I just get high, be paranoid and have agoraphobia until I quit and take time to recover.

Um, that might be what happens to you but for everyone? Also, "high THC hybrids" is so vague that it could refer to a number of different strains with different highs or buzzes. Perhaps you don't really know what you're talking about.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 30914744

there is research that has shown that "high THC hybrids" can give many symptoms of psychotic disorders.

Im talking more of the "excessively high" THC hybrids IN RELATION to CBD, not those that may just have a high THC value but also same with CBD. THe point is that anyways, high THC or not I think what I'm looking for is CBD not the THC so much, or if not a good balance between the two. Too much THC and too little CBD I know can give the symptoms I mentioned above.

Sigh, am I gonna have to refute a "reefer madness" claim AGAIN? Better just dredge up an old thread.

There has been studies on the effect of THC taken alone without any of the other terpenes or cannabinoids and it gives psychotic symptoms. ANd what do you think occurs when people "looking to get so fuckin blasted out of their minds" without any real therapeutic effect make strains which predominate the whole weed industry?

I don't think brain damage is realistic, but I know for a fact it can fuck with your psyche.

Out of everything I have done in life, acid, shrooms, e, coke, pills, weed, etc. If I could go back and not do one of them, it would have been smoking weed.

The chain reaction from not smoking weed would have removed all of those other substances from my life, but besides that point, weed destroyed me. It turned me from a talkative, everyone loves me, into a shy, sit in the corner and roll a joint person that only cared about when the next hit of weed was. I went through all of high school only caring about one thing, and that was getting high. I am 26 now, and I can't make friends because when I was going through that all important time in which you learn social interaction on more of an adult level, I only worried about getting high, nothing else. I can't have conversations with girls, I can't interact with people, I can't do shit. My psyche is completely FUCKED, and it is single handedly because of weed.

Terpenes are also another factor as well. I'm just going by what I've researched, not saying I know everything but Im no shill.

Terrapines have nothing to do with potency...smell and flavor. STRAINS have everything to do with potency and the expectations of they high that you will receive. Look at the site I posted for attitude seedbank, you will see that there are plenty of different strains that will effect you in the way that you choose or need.

There are strains that are high in THC and low in CBD that will just mentally stimulate you and cause you to be creative with minimal negative effects or "psychosis." If you were to grow, I would suggest growing an automatic strain that is high in CBD. They are not as strong as the regular strains that you get, but will do the job.

Yeah I guess eh. Sorry bout the condescension. I was actually on the mindset that you were saying that it will BUILD towards psychosis, which it doesn't. But one can't deny the immediate symptoms, which can absolutely resemble psychosis.

However, consider this: have you heard of "spice"? One would expect that if THC is psychotogenic, then the ultrapotent synthetic cannabinoids ought to without fail, as since them chemicals can be sourced pure, people frequently experience scary OD effects after attempting to "eyeball" some of the chemical.

However, they seem to be not that different to THC as regards to paranoia, etc. I personally feel that it is social conditioning that is ENTIRELY the cause of cannabis induced paranoia; users get stoned and think to themselves "gee, what if a cop pulled up right now?" or "what if I get piss tested?".

The effect is the repeated layering of more and more fear upon something that is not actually dangerous.

That sort of conditioning could make someone feel paranoid about eating cookies. In fact, it already does! It's called anorexia nervosa.

There are a small group of people that end up like this, I have a few theories why it happens. Getting away from the fact that it was abused and the only thing you claimed you cared about was needing another hit, you were never able to integrate the two worlds of being hi and not being hi. When I smoke, I do everything I would do when I wasnt hi. Integration is key. The type of weed that was being smoked is another issue. It sounds like you didn't smoke something that was high in thc like a good haze. I would smoke haze and play beer pong all night in college. Everyone is different though. I hope you figure out a way to express yourself the way you want to man.

My story is similar, however, I was able to fix it, somewhat at least. To start, before I smoked weed I was already socially awkward and anxious. After I found weed, I felt (or possibly convinced myself that I was) much less anxious and and thus a good bit care-free. I had a lot of fun with a new group of friends and eventually weed became a centerpiece of sorts for all the things we did. Whatever we or I was going to do, sure enough, weed preceded it.

After about six months of having fun, it came to the point where I had used it enough and associated my only happiness with smoking, so in turn, I smoked a lot more. Eventually, my anxiety came back and even stronger than before. This probably lasted for a year and a half and it really got to the point where I couldn't think about how I would go about my day without weed. I was in a constant state of intoxication and the fatigue that followed. I slept a lot more, became more apathetic, and I really just felt like shit. Actually, I started considering the possibility that I had depersonalization disorder or that I was a schizoid, based on my severe detachment from everything.

Somehow, I just realized that there was no reason in continuing smoking if it gave me all this terrible anxiety and behaviors, even if all my friends still smoked and it went against my previous adherence to the popular marijuana culture. I used to find comfort in that but I just realized I wasn't my friends, nor was I interested in the same lifestyle. After time, my detachment became much less severe, I could function in society and talk to other people without forgetting everything I'm trying to say and do so much more confidently. That's not to say I'm outgoing and talkative, however, I don't feel like shit, nor am I insecure about everything I say or do.

By the way, I'm not trying to shill on weed. This is my personal experience and I'm not trying to say this happens to everyone, because it most definitely does not. One notable con though (besides not being able to get high without going crazy) does include my substitution of mj for tobacco, which I'm not exactly proud of. Having a girlfriend definitely does help, and further assistance can usually be found in alcohol ;)

Re: Weed cured my anxiety
Well, maybe it only masks the problem, but I've got a life now. Benzoes, lyrica, SSRI's only made me sicker.... so if if a few puffs a couple of times a week can help me have close to a normal life, I rather do that, than live in the hell I used to.

It was so bad, if I was left alone for 10 minutes, I'd be on the floor in seizures from some sort of condition they have no clue what is....so they name it anxiety. I know there is something else going on in my body aswell, because I am hyper sensitive to food, pesticides, perfumes, and I have chronic pain in my body.

Weed eases all of that...so that I can now go for days without pain, even when I don't smoke, and I am less allergic too, for some odd reason :)

I've been looking at cannibis lately for health issues. First of all, there are many chemical in the plant one has to get familiar with. THC is the one that has psychoactive effects.

THC has been increasing over the years, while CBD's have been reduced. This is bad as CBD's MIGHT have potential for medicial purposes. This has yet to be proven scientifically.

[link to www.sclabs.com]

The CBD's are what seem most beneficial for health, and the THC is what is psychoctive when heated.

THC is processed by the liver. I have a weak liver and can feel even the most mild THC pot gives me troubles. THC can also cause psychosis is some people. That does not sound fun.

There is more focus on high CBD content marijuana strains for health research.

I've been trying these "Dixie Elixir Drops" which are completely THC free(no psychoactive effect)

[link to dixieelixirs.com]

Only been a couple of days. They do not get me high, and they seem to have a sedating/pain reliveing effect. I can actually drink coffee without getting all anxious. Probably work well for anxiety. I would also take a b-complex, and a high quality hydroxycobalamin sublingual for anxiety.

From what I can tell the CBD route is probably much safer way to go without the heavy fatigue.

If one has anxiety, I would try eliminating coffee for a few months and add some b vitamins and magnesium.

to good health.

There is no truth that THC content is increasing and there is no truth to the CBD content decreasing. I didn't bother reading the articles you linked because those are false claims that you have made.

It is all about STRAIN and the type of "medicine" a particular strain produces. People are breeding both sides of the spectrum and in between. High CBD strains (mainly indicas) make you sleepy, hungry, relieve pain, and help with the majority of anxiety and overall cancer reducing issues. High THC strains (mainly sativas) are mood enhancers, stimulants, stop hunger, and cure migraines. Please don't propagate false information.

Re: Weed cured my anxiety
A month ago i decided to try weed to help my 3 yr long crippling anxiety. Little did I know...weed actually removed it. I only smoke a few puffs two three times a week or when i feel i would benefit from it. I dont smoke to get high or wasted. Therapeutic i would say..

Look back at the weed from the 60's it wasn't over 1-2% THC.

Sorry new to the software...

I boycott wikipedia. Bunch of distortions.

According to the Office of National Drug Control Policy, marijuana is much more powerful and so are the mind-altering effects associated with use. Average THC levels rose from less than one percent in the mid-1970s to more than six percent in 2002. This means that even what is considered just skunk weed, can be six to ten times more potent than what was available in the 60ís and 70ís. No marijuana is the same; dealers can mix marijuana with other substances, from oregano to being laced with PCP, which means you canít rely on what you are getting. Sinsemilla potency increased in the past two decades from six percent to more than 13 percent, with some samples containing THC levels of up to 33 percent.

No offense intended here but how can you react to Wikipedia with skepticism while trusting the assertions of the U.S. government's Office Of National Drug Control Policy? The same government who lists marijuana as a Schedule 1 narcotic which means they assert it has no accepted medical uses/applications? It is vital to exercise caution/discernment when reading anything that is propogated by the government concerning marijuana. 99% of the time it is designed to further their refutation of the truth about the substance. It's been this way for decades.

Medical science FACT spits in the face of the government's assertion that cannabis has no medicinal applications, and that glaring contradiction alone is sufficient enough to convince your average critical thinker that the government has no vested interest in communicating 'facts' about marijuana to the public.

I'm sorry but that is a lie and that information was most likely obtained subconsciously from listening to the news or the nonsense that comes out of the TV.

There is popular belief (depending on where you lived) that in the 60's the cannabis consumed was much more potent THC wise on the average than what is circulated today as most of the time it was landrace sativa strains from Mexico or south america. Now Indica's are popular as it gives you the strong narcotic "stoned" effect, thus people assume it is stronger. Indica's produce a product much faster than sativa's, adding to its popularity. Sativa's are extremely high in THC, and will always be well over 1 to 2 percent that you incorrectly listed. Research landrace strains. Even the garbage "brick" weed is higher than 1 to 2 percent as it consists mostly of sativa strains.

My family has grown for almost 10 years, I have done extensive research, beyond belief. I spend a lot of time on forums for growing. So I am sorry if I get upset when people post information that is not correct, but the items I have pointed out are not correct. Oaksterdam University in Oakland CA will provide you with valid information if you need it on the "university" level. Take it or leave it. This is an interest of mine, so I actually do know what I am talking about.

We are on a conspiracy website, you should know that you can't believe what these government influenced Universities spew. Stanford released a false article about how organic has the same benefits as non-organic foods. Do you actually believe that?
