I think it will take several months for supply to catch up to demand with the rifles themselves.
One thing you might consider is police auctions. They have auctions from evidence and property to raise money at least around here. can't say I've been to more than a couple and don't know if they sell firearms or not.
The ammo shortage may be a different problem all together. We are competing with the Feds who ordered tons of ammo

They don't want firearms banned altogether, but the threat of banning, laws, publicity drives up prices and profits.
