I don't know what the native Nahuatl word for crow or raven is at the moment, and would like to know,

but it is interesting that there are no crows or ravens in the whole region of central and southern mexico, but instead there are Great Grackles, that are kind of like giant magpies, but they fill the same niche in terms of diet and habits as the crows and ravens.

These books describe the rise and fall of the Mexica and the wonders of their civilization in great detail. They are some of the most well researched and amazing works of historical fiction I have ever read...
