Towards the end of my husband's life, we had to go on food stamps and he signed up for disability. I remember all the paper work, all the questions, all the phone calls. We had to give account of every cent that came into our household. My life was an open book to the government and I didn't like it one bit. One of the first phone calls I made after my husband's passing, and my period of grief, was to the S.S. office to stop ALL assistance. They sent me one more check after he passed away and I kept it for the longest time, up until last week. I finally tore it up and threw it away. Can you just please sum up your point. What I am getting from you is that no one deserves help under any circumstances. All along you are quoting scripture. Please enlighten us about how much better you are than others because you tore up a SS check. I'm interested. People pay into a fund in case they become disabled. What's your point?
