I wonder if parts of this country will be given to China to pay off the debt. Just a couple of days ago China was demanding that all US citizens be disarmed.

You can't give away parts of a sovereign nation....no nation ever has either. There could be a war over it though.

Since China stopped 'buying our debt' a year ago, and has taken many steps to extricate itself from the us, including making arrangements to purchase oil from nations on the usa's black list, and doing so in gold, I have to conclude that BOTH of you are paid shills. Of course supplies will be rationed in the post-collapse USA police state. Look what happened after hurricane Sandy. They wouldn't let gas stations "gouge" their customers so the supply shortages lasted much longer than they had to. The people that needed gas the most couldn't get gas because of people who didn't really need gas wanted to buy gas at the artificially low fixed price because they weren't sure when gas was going to be plentiful again. If people thought the aftermath of hurricane Sandy in the northeast was bad, wait until the whole country experiences supply shortages because of price fixing (to shield the public from the effect of high inflation) or hyperinflation, where a loaf of bread is $10,000.

There will be a functioning economy in the US post dollar collapse. But the only function economy will be that of the black market. There was no supply....and what was left was rationed to 10 gallons each.

Well, the stations actually did have the gas in their tanks but since the gas stations didn't have power they couldn't get the gas pumped out. Had the stations had a generator, gas would have been able to be tapped from the stations' tanks. Gas stations don't bother to spend money to put in a generator because instances like hurricane Sandy are rare and there's no way for the gas stations to recoup their money on a generator if politicians don't let the owners "gouge" customers for a short period of time (a week or less).

Wouldn't be surprised if politicians passed a law to make it so gas stations were required to buy a generator. Of course, since massive power outages are rare, and the price of gasoline will be fixed in an emergency, to recoup the cost of the generator, now all of the customers at gas stations will pay more for gas all of the time. So, instead of some customers paying a lot more for gas for only a few days, now every customer will pay more for gas every day.

Left out that other gas stations from neighboring states had no incentive to supply areas suffering from shortages because of the artificially low prices.

Anyone caught trafficking fuel in tankers was stopped, fined and fuel confiscated by the state police.

Some had gensets....most did not.
The ones that had fuel and were running via the gensets got emptied out pretty fast.
Every so often one of the gas stations that had fuel in the tanks underground but no power would get power via a temp generator and then BOOM....multi mile long lines until that fuel was gone. Most times they rationed people to 10 gallons.

Yeah, police did fine people trying to ship in more gasoline. Shame isn't it? The police were actively helping to exacerbate the crisis by stopping people from supplying more gas to the affected areas. But the sheeple cheered as their clueless leaders assured them that it was for their own good that gas wasn't allowed to be sourced in. Go long black markets. Only a fool would put up with shortages, rationing and the state preventing the general public from receiving any sort of relief.

I'm not arguing any of the bullet-points in the OP mind you. I do think a lot of those are legitimate potentialities. It's just that after a while on the "conspiracy circuit" you begin to dismiss certain sources.

This thread brings to mind some of the things that I think might happen. First off China wont mind being paid in dollars for now cause they can still get oil from OPEC with them even though they are using gold now too. Remember U.S. dollars are petro dollars and it is by virtue of this oil cartel that the dollar has been able to weather such abuse. Also U.S. has some comemercial technological advantages but I digress.

I think that the plan for the dollar is to stretch it all the way until it makes sense to issue one currency for the American hemisphere or Amerizone. I think this based on the fact that the treasury continues to inflate the dollar almost to see how far it can go and Lso based on whistle blower info from camelot website.

In light of this U.S. is going to continue to open up domestic energy as we wein the curency from its petro dollar status and begin to trump up the status of our technologies and organizational abilities. Sadly I think that the plan is flawed because some of these technologies are harmful ultimately I.e. GMO, military tech, pharmaceuticles etc. Even oil based transportation is a farce as better technologies already exist. The big lie is that the res5 of the world is convinced that U.S. industries provide the map of the civilized future. As long as this lie is perpe5uated U.S. purchasing power parity should remain strong enough to keep Americans obese whch in the long run will kill us and the rest of the world that buys into this lie of prosperity.
