Maybe it has something to do with the confusion between upper and lower Egypt aswell, the stories being mixed a little.

the wiki suggest that Ra and Isis was fighting, that Isis wanted her son Horus to have the power Ra had, so she poisons him and will only give him the antidote if he reveals his secret name to her, and thereby giving her power.
And that Ra had Hathor as wife, but also daugther, confusing times! :)

and the wierd thing is that Osiris is fighting Seth, it doesn't say anything about Ra when they fight, then Osiris is killed and reborn as Horus and overthrows Seth and apparently Isis fights Ra at the same time? or later on?
maybe it is in the time when she births Horus and hides him from Seth, until he can fight him.

The fighting amongst the egyptian gods, seems slightly similar to the babylonian tales with Tiamat/Marduk/Kingu
