Either take it to your local veterinarian, or ask him/her to recommend an animal rescue place for it. That's good that you gave it water. Nice that you took it in. You and your child have a kind heart. :) Apollo astronauts couldn't have passed through Van Allen's Belt. Van Allen wore suspenders. |

Then somebody told me that they basically 'fret' to death when confined or handled. Best maybe if you let it go now. In the beginning was the Word. And the Word was with God. And the Word Was God. |

Thanks for doing this for the bird. It's very considerate of you. :) Apollo astronauts couldn't have passed through Van Allen's Belt. Van Allen wore suspenders. |

Actually, maybe you should call your local veterinarian and ask his/her opinion. Probably 2 choices: 1) bring it in to your local veterinarian so he/she can give it a vitamin formula and then go from there. 2) let it outside where you found it. Maybe put it up some place high in a tree, out of reach of cats and larger birds like crows or birds of prey. Apollo astronauts couldn't have passed through Van Allen's Belt. | Maga User ID: 30951958 12/27/2012 09:29 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I took care of a juvenile female cardinal one time years ago. She couldn't quite fly yet. She stayed in a large bush and I fed her every two hours during the day with tiny bits of raw hamburger and gave her a little water with an eye dropper. She also liked a little cantaloupe. She followed me around like I was her mother and would even come when I called her, but eventually learned to fly and went off with other cardinals. The other advice about getting it to a vet is a good idea. In the meantime you could find soft insects, grubs or worms to feed it. Without food it will die and it's not old enough to get food on its own. |
