Re: New taxes for Americans coming in 2013
Extra taxes and austerity is the new norm and the most fashionable trend for 2013 worldwide as it seems, you're not "cool" and "in" if you don't pay extra taxes these days. I really hope this will be the last extra tax burden for US people, but the only thing for certain here is that the economy won't get any better, it crashed long time ago imo. Austerity policies already in 15+ European countries now including powerhouses like Uk, France since past week, Germany-Netherlands in 2013.
Lets face it, bankzi's have completely taken over.

you have this totally wrong, in the US only the hip and cool DON'T pay taxes, indeed the hip and most noble are those who GET government bennies and those who think we aren't paying enough in taxes. the rest of us are just morons.
 Quoting: davvi

Hey davvi cheers I was just trying to point out that 2013 will be a tax-mare worldwide, but it's true that i don't know exactly how the tax system works in the US, read some stories that half of the population isn't paying taxes anymore but dunno if these stories totally reflect the situation tbh.

All these policies are unfair in my book, there should be a limit on how much a govt can tax you, but supreme courts decisions and stuff don't matter for the people who decide these policies anymore, they directly target unfairly the average citizen (yes the ones with a 200k+ annual wage too) with their illegal policies, while they give the multinational corporations a free-ride in the tune of billions and billions every year.

For example the Greek business elite is not paying taxes since like forever here, they get the biggest state subsidies (like a similar GE no tax+subsidy story in US),at the same time they are in the 2nd place of the world-rank in value of deposits in Switzerland lol, while the average Greek moran is now taxed to death to fill a gap that he obviously can't fill. Something is obviously fucked up with the current situation.

Re: New taxes for Americans coming in 2013
[link to rt.com]

Congress approved US President Barack Obama’s hallmark health care bill nearly three years ago, but only in the coming weeks will Americans finally start to see the real price of the program.

A whole new slew of taxes are expected to be imposed starting January 1 to help pay for the health care plan, and that isn’t sitting pretty with some high-income households, or even the medical industry.

There will be a few new changes in 2013 as far as taxes go, but the one that might affect the most people is one that targets income investments. Individuals making more than $200,000 annually (and married couples making over $250k combined) will be subjected to a 3.8 percent levy on investment income, a maneuver that it expected to earn Uncle Sam an extra $123 billion between the first of the year and 2019.
 Quoting: strikeforce

How about we take money away from the corporations like GE and Boeing that DIDN'T PAY A CENT IN TAXES ON OVER 10Billion DOLLARS IN REVENUE! The people making over 250k a year aren't shit compared to the real rich.

cheers i know you have a mess over there too, and we are not that far behind you and when we fall we are going to take many boats along with us.

to hear our media speak, those who work hard and become successful are the "enemy." our media admires british/european socialism even though our system was never designed that way. our media and our democrats always paint those who are against high taxes and government spending and those who refuse to be dependent on government as the problem with our country not the leeches and parasites.

if you look above you will see a post about general electric (GE) not paying one penny in taxes while making billions. the average person trying to make ends meet our taxes are always going up. anyone interested to know what kind of bargain the US government entered into with GE?

they passed legislation to get rid of the incandescent bulb because GE began selling the swirley bulb which is manufactured in china. american light bulb manufacturers are being put out of business in favor of the GE and chinese monopoly thanks to our government and yet romney is the problem?

all of us are being sold down the river by our governments, leftists and democrats.

peace, my friend, and good luck to you i think we will all need it.

I believe the mess here, there and pretty much everywhere is not accidental, central banks are timing this and want to be in sync for when they decide to light up the fireworks.

I know you guys don't like your political system going more left compared to your usual standards, but it seems this the only way for TPTB to keep the social web and financial system going while covering up the cracks. I'm not justifying the situation, US citizens obviously know better than me, but imagine how the situation would have been if all the people on food stamps and other benefits were rioting, dying or something, trust in US economy would have gone downhill and then the whole world with it. It costs them less to just print 85BN of food stamps than shut the economy down when they're not yet ready to do that.

Thnx for the info about GE, didn't know about the legislation, only read recently that in 2010 they made a profit of 5BN, paid zero taxes and they even got state subsidies valued at 3 BN, lol, talking about taking the piss. Govt's have sold us to the corporations first, outsourcing, leftist policies, leechers etc. are the direct consequences of these policies and sellout imo.

Best of luck to you too bro, we gonna need it indeed. cheers

Did the Bible say that you are more worthy of happiness than others? Or is it just you and a small group of self supporting elite minded purists who want to build walled subdivisions and communities to hide from those they would oppress with financial slavery?

How very Max Headroom of you! We are so lucky that you think you are worthy of 250,000 or more a year so that you can instill your children with an education into how much better thy are than others. You know, the same kind of things you now teach them.

I have an idea. Why don't we go back to the sixties when the tax rate for someone with 400,000 earnings was taxed at a rate of just above 70 percent? Too tough for you? Well how about the seventies and early eighties when 200,000 would get you a fifty percent tax rate? Still no?

Well how about the government use their power to guarantee each American family a home, car, insurance, and basic food needs for the family. Then they can work for luxuries and you can still make more money than them and feel all imperious and superior without depriving the majority of the populous of the basic needs of life. That way it won't be communism and it will still be a special kind of fair just for elitists.

Life must be good in the UK if OP is worried about Americans making 200,000 dollars a year being taxed a little more. Let me see.... 200,000 is about 16,500 a month or 4,000 a week or 800 per working day.

Yep! I can see how it must be hard to survive on that!

Probably neither:
Theyare no different than you. You look at what you earn and on that basis you buy. Whatever you buy needs to be maintained, and you know how costly the taxes, repairs, maintenance in general can be. As a result there is no money left over for anything else other than what you already involved in.

Along comes a new expense (unforeseen) and devastating, because it is unforeseen. If you are rich, this could mean letting your mistress or gigolo go altogether, or insulting him/her by lowering the status of living to which he/she has become. This of course effects your sexlife, could even make mistress/gigolo really really mad as a junk-yard dog, and low and behold tells your wife and kids what you have been doing.. The wife is also cut short on her allowance, and also the kids, and before he knows it he has an entire pack of mad dogs at his throat.

Then, of course, there is the plane, and hanger expense, ...... more long-winded verbiage.

I am sorry that you do not know of America's prosperity in the past. You know, back before that un-American corporation "the Federal Reserve" was established to loan us our own money printed on our own equipment at a guaranteed interest rate for them. Of course since we have the most expensive military in the world, we could always cut back a little bit on defense spending and still take on the next ten highest spending countries, or we could just declare that our money is worth anything we say it is and if you don't like it we are sending the legions, PAX ROMANA, er AMERICANA.

When was EARNING your SALARY equivalent to GREED? If someone is smart enough to get an education or start a business that allows themselves to reach that level of pay, you better DAMN well believe they deserve it.

It is NOT up to the uninformed, uneducated masses to decide if someone of a greater intelligence and drive to succeed should be forcefully pulled down to "acceptable pay".

DO you think the seconds of your life are more important to you than the seconds of anothers? Did GOD make you high and mighty like Pharaoh?

Yeah government redistribution will work. It always has, right? Where ever it's been tried, right?

Re: New taxes for Americans coming in 2013
That's it? That's your reply? No facts, just an opinion without anything to check. At least my arguments are either math or verifiable history.

And frankly, I don't care much which side you represent. They are just two sides of the same coin. It is all smoke and mirrors to control every sector of populace. Each side needs to lose there hate and work together. Democrats need the Republican organization abilities while Republicans need Democrats enthusiasm and heart. An America working together again, that I would like to see!
