I would also use my mom's used gallon sized Maxwell House coffee cans and fill them up with different amounts of dirt in each to get my tones and I would beat coffee cans in the garage to old 45's and 33's on the turntable. I put the plastic top back on which acted as my drum head. And I used my mom's tin pie plates for cymbals. All I had to buy was drum sticks ;) This is how us po kids played drums in the 70's. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 6493463 United States 12/27/2012 11:36 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The following video was posted in September, but it’s just now starting to go viral. It’s titled “‘Whirled Beat’ 10-year-old boy drumming washing machine.” Yes, it’s a young boy using a washing machine as a drum. And yes, it is incredible: Quoting: Fire Watch [link to www.theblaze.com] Hm ... not so much. This is what happens when kids aren't allowed to GO OUTSIDE AND PLAY. Our culture has gotten so paranoid we keep our kids indoors and you end up with this. This kid needs to be outside stealing fruit from farmer Brown's orchard, playing with matches, and running from bullies. My dad grew up in the 1920s and that's what boys did. The ADHD and asberger's types along with everyone else. |
