Actually, this was what caused the rough spot in years 3 and 4. I told her if we didn't get some kind of counseling that I was going to have to take our daughter, who was 2 at the time, and leave. We renewed out vows for our 5th anniversary.

This is why so many marriages fail right around the 7 year mark. Today's American has a marked lack of sticktoitivness and tenacity. They bolt at the first sign of adversity. It's a sign of weakness and lack of character.

No, it's that I just remember years 3 and 4 as very difficult in our relationship. She was not completely to blame. I was teaching at a middle school at the time, and surrounded by many new (and attractive) teachers right out of college, with whom I spent more time during the day than my wife.

I didn't cheat on her with these new and attractive teachers, but in a way I did... "As a man thinks in his heart, so is he..." I suppose that my actions were somewhat alienating to my wife. I understand that this is a common occurrence with teachers and their spouses.
