I don't trust anybody til they have proven themselves to me. and I have sent multiple e-mails in the past and the only response I get back is from an intern answering the mail. where is the grievance in that ?? when you do not even get a response ?? writing anybody on Capital Hill is a waste of time. they only make room for you on their schedule if you are wealthy or contributed to their last campaign fund. |

But the danger is that in maybe 10 years, let's say the Reps capture the Senate (partly from rejection of Senators who voted for this bad legislation) but the Dems win the House. Then the House can pass this identical legislation and the Senate can't say no. Passed bills don't sunset when a new session of Congress begins. It then goes straight to the President for signature. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 30923303 The anti American Government stooges in office do not even begin to realise the ramifications of what will happen if this is passed and made law. They actually believe law abiding gun owners will just hand over their firearm? HAHAHAHAHA NOT A CHANCE!! They will be easy targets that's for sure. |

Write a letter and snail-mail it. Also, call. Listen, I understand your frustration, okay? I really do. I've long ago felt that they are controlled by 'other' interests that are contrary to the well being of the American public, but I won't go into all of that now. The thing is, we still have some time remaining to try and use words - even if they fall on deaf ears, we will know in our hearts that we tried every avenue of non-violent approach. Only a fool would think that the American people cannot be pushed into violence over firearms legislation. It's ingrained in us, unlike our retarded cousins in Britain and Australia. If shooting starts (which I don't think it will come to that), draw close to God, and do what you feel you have to do. |
vind21 User ID: 4203996 United States 12/27/2012 12:48 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The Constitution specifically says there are no limits to the amount of guns & ammo that an American can possess. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1514972 This is because it's what is needed to keep government in check. Once the authority with guns say people can only use knives, but they can use guns themselves, means they're overpowered and can oppress it's population more easily than if they were on a level playing field. Crazy. "...and have one military characteristic." This means "If you have something WE have, then YOU can't have it! -- WE must have the BETTER artillery." Why is that? The best defense against an invasion (home security, right?) is having every citizen "armed like a militia" so that nobody even attempts it. The problem is education and the teaching of liberalism and that guns are somehow evil and bad. Uneducated people are bad, mmkay? The government is defiantly OP, they need nerfs BAD. Time for a hot fix. I don't think we can wait 4 more years for the next patch to come out. Screw you, I'm from Texas. |

Sandy to get Obama popularly elected, to cover enough of the vote fraud. Sandy Hook to get Obama past the electoral college. He's securely elected now even though we all know he really lost. Fiscal cliff excitement to push thru gun control. Sandy Hook and Webster also used as the needed fig leaf / excuse in the press. Damn this government if they do this. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 8397139 you should because this is the root of all our problems. Oh I agree, but that's a whole other subject. Being a descendant of multiple Confederate veterans, I recall studying the War of Northern Aggression in my younger days. One thing that comes to mind is the words of General Robert E. Lee. I don't remember them exactly, so I'll have to paraphrase them. If I am wrong, I will stand corrected by a knowledgeable historian that corrects me. Basically, his sentiment was that he opposed the war. He did not want it to come to war, and his heart was heavy when considering it. But, in the end, he did the right thing and joined our Confederacy. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 8397139 you should because this is the root of all our problems. not to mention this is exactly the problem Hitler had when he was elected as Chancellor. All the outside influence on Germany from outsiders and bankers and the starvation caused by the Treaty of Versailles. Germany went bankrupt just exactly like we are now. We are now in an identical situation that Hitler had in 1933. And Hitler found out his problem and tried to fix it. but our government is embracing it like it was cotton candy. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 3175452 this is also gonna disarm the US Militias. breaking 2 parts of the Constitution. a well and regulated militia can't happen after this law. Very true, but the Feds dont reconize militias as militia, only their national guard. Yes, but Oklahoma has enacted a law to make itself sovereign over federal laws and also has on the books to have and regulate a militia outside of the national guard. |

What she has put on her website is so over the top it would never get through the Senate either. This is nothing but a strawman that is expected to be torn down so they can appear to be "compromising" for what they can get passed. "God forbid we should ever be 20 years without such a rebellion. The people cannot be all, & always, well informed... If they remain quiet under such misconceptions it is a lethargy, the forerunner of death to the public liberty... Let them take arms... What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots & tyrants. " - Thomas Jefferson in 1787 |
