Your statement has a context: It is made by a person who is a British Subject. A subject is, well, subject to the state. You are property that is literally owned, a resourse to be managed.
The people you are addressing are Citizens of the US. A Citizen has a sovergnity that cannot be violated. To ensure this, ultimately, we are armed.
