I have seen this video, and it definitely looks like an adrenaline-pumping, extreme thing to do!

My very first thought when I first saw this video was:
"Wow! These teens are taking some major risks! What if the bungee cord snapped? What if the fastener/knots came undone? What if the cord was too long or too short and they hit the other building, or the ground, etc?"

But, then I thought about it a bit and I considered that perhaps these teens are highly intelligent and are passionate about physics and mathematics, and accounted for all possible variables, and properly set up a safe "experiment" that provides a serious adrenaline rush!

I also then thought to myself: Well, Russian youths are renowned for having highly intelligent minds, with great affinity for engineering, mathematics, and physics, so that is possible. I then also countered my line of thinking with this: Well, they might live in the most remote area of Siberia/border of Mongolia, and their city is corrupt and the majority of citizens are dying from overdoses from "Krokodil" (Look it up if you have never heard of it...but be forewarned: it is not for the squeamish) and they figure, 'What the hell? Our lives suck anyway, we might as well push the boundaries and live on the edge!' (notice there appear to be no windows in the building across from the one they are standing on top of...is it an abandoned apartment building? Or a parking garage?)

So now I just considered this:

What would happen to these same teens if they had done the same exact thing in the United States? They and their parents might have been arrested. Is that freedom? Is that liberty? Are they harming anyone's personal property or injuring any person against their will?

And, this was the first thing I thought, when I first saw this thread title, but did not open the thread and see the video:
Why does this video get uploaded, with a title, "Russian Kids are Fucking Insane" and gets pinned, when one of the biggest headlines of yesterday and today is that Russia is taking steps to forbid the adoption of Russian children by American citizens...?

[side note: over the past twenty years, 60,000 Russian children have been adopted by Americans. 20 of these adopted Russian children have died at the hands of their adoptive American parents. There are currently 3/4 million orphaned Russian children today. source: [link to www.washingtonpost.com] ]
