Has anyone other than a policeman shot and killed a mass shooter?

no because they generally end up killing themselves before police or citizens can.


there have been some cases of A citizen stopping a crime. Just 3 weeks ago in oregon at the mall shooting, a concealed carry citizen, pointed at the gunmen and he fled, his rifle jammed..he later un jammed it and ended his own life. 2 people died in that mall shooting.

Shooters kill themselves often

There have been incidents that did not make major headlines where armed security shot and killed them prior to them being able to carry out their mission. This is usually buried in the MSM however evidence of their intent( Lots of ammo, multiple weapons in a bag, etc) usually let you know what they were thinking.

Unfortunately these security guards usually end up getting killed or seriously wounded in almost every case as the shooter attacks them without warning, first.

They seem to only be effective when there are either more than one guard, or they are undercover.

Probably, but in doing so prevented the mass killing from happening! No way to check however.

I'm MORE interested to know when THE POLICE have actually "stopped" a "mass" shooter. You can't!


Mostly it looks like the police are called in for "cleanup" and name taking.

Suppose that the guy who did the Sandy Hook thing had been shot before he did it. How could you know he was ever about to do it? A mass shooter is only a mass shooter AFTER he do it. So, there may be several people that stop things like that to happen, on the other hand, there could be none...

Another thing to consider is mass shootings almost always occur in "gun free" zones. Universities, malls, theaters, k-12 schools, etc.
