As has already been stated previously by another poster, if push came to shove, most of you tough guys with your guns would shake in your boots and drop your weapons when faced with threats by a government militia - and those who wouldn't are just looking for any reason to the pull the trigger.

This could backfire on them, pun intended. Once an arm is part of the NFA, they would be automatically be part of the NFA. In other words, you could turn it into an SBR, a class III firearm or silence it with only a little paperwork involved.
