I've never seen those prices by far,
not even in vienna, cereal here is about
3euros, 5 for the big pack, chili maaaybe
a euro, dipers maybe half that price and
baby food 1/3 less ...but what parent would
feed that P&G poison to their kids, doritos
and pringles are maybe .99€ and a 12-pack
of cola maybe 5bucks, WTF?

Things are still CENTS here believe it or not.


ALSO here (regular people) we dont really
buy into that brand-name shit, EVERY SINGLE
product has COPIES here, house brand everything,
maybe half the price of the original and pretty
much the same taste/quality, what you save on
mostly is the ADVERTISING costs I guess.

My local whole foods is 75% cheaper than that Alaska grocery store here in Ohio.

corn flakes are cheaper if you live next to the kellog's factory.

Look at those Mexican cities on google streetview, their streets are lined with brand new car dealerships, electronics stores, furniture stores, all and up and down, the roads are full of new cars.

Mexico is rich now, because they got all those US factories there.

No, it is a regular store. It is just very far away from the beaten path. Anchorage is easier to get to so things are less expensive there.

Hell part time jobs were paying better than some officers base pay.

They have a big problem with the indian population. Most indian/eskimo towns are dry. But they still get booze and get in trouble. Alaska is a beautiful state but it has a dark side too.

I hear they actually pay people to live up there. Just to populate it. Wonder if that would off set the prices.
