He's probably just a lonely ol' guy looking to connect with other living beings...It's not like you'll have to "put up" with the guy forever.

If you don't have time for a neighbor who is obviously in need of some companionship try hookin' him up with another lonely neighbor or invite him out to do some stuff where he might meet someone he can spend time with.

Try and see the world from his perspective and it'll help you handle it better...good luck.
