So...the BP oil disaster is still on going? Tale of two wells? Somebody tell me the truth please.
I've watched numerous Matt Simmons videos and done some reading on it.

I understand Mr. Simmons untimely death is very suspicious and I believe what he has said prior to his death.

I search for updated material related to the "oil disaster" and find little of meaningful value.

Somebody fill me in and/or point me in the right direction as I am studying the Bayou Corne Sinkhole and the BP gulf disaster connection.

Thanks in Advance.

Razorbackkid.

Re: So...the BP oil disaster is still on going? Tale of two wells? Somebody tell me the truth please.
An interesting fact - the well that exploded was one of the closest licensed Blocks that the United States has to the Cuban fields where Fidel discovered he had access to 20 billion barrels of oil...

BP bought a 65% stake in Block 252 from Anadarko Petroleum in March, 2008, but didn't begin drilling the well until October, 2009, when the Transocean Marianas rig started the first 4,000 feet, immediately after the Deepwater Horizon set a world record of 35,055 feet in the Tiber field near Texas. Once it was established that this monster drilling rig could hit seven miles deep, BP moved the Marianas to Block 252 the same month, after leaving Block 252 alone for a year and a half. Drilling was stopped on November 9th, 2009 when Hurrican Ida blew in.

It sat idle until around February 15th, 2010, another 100 days, when the Deepwater Horizon was positioned over the well, but drilling was delayed while the newly formed cracks in the seabed were cemented. Two months later, on April 20th, the explosion occurred, six months before the Cuban oil well only 500 miles away was scheduled to come online in a joint venture with Russia.

Interesting to note is that the only other oil rig to successfully drill down to 35,000 feet in the Gulf of Mexico, the Discoverer Spirit, was also under lease to Anadarko Petroleum and from available records, appears to have been on almost the exact same spot in the Gulf of Mexico, 28N, 88W, in March, 2010. A backup? Two deepsea holes?

Three questions immediately come to mind. The first is the year and a half wait between BP buying into the well and then actually beginning work on it. The second is the 100 day window between the Marianas finishing the first 4,000 feet of the well and the Deepwater Horizon starting again, and the third is the questionable idea that if the intention was really to drill down to only 18,000 feet as BP has stated, why would you bring in one of the very few monster rigs that can hit twice that mark, when you have literally dozens of smaller ones that are capable of doing the job required at Block 252?

In the weeks leading up to the spill, Goldman Sachs dumped 43% of their BP stocks, and Tony Hayward, the CEO of BP, sold 33% of his private holdings. Halliburton, Dick Cheney's company that has become deeply integrated with the U.S. military, bought up the world's largest oil spill cleanup operation, Boots & Coots, who they used during the war in Iraq to put out the oil wells that Saddam Hussein set on fire. In fact, the man who poured the cement that ended up being the 'faulty leak' that is being blamed for the explosion was a senior manager at Boots & Coots for decades, and was one of the men working the oil fires in Iraq.

Don't know if it matters, but they were drilling in the weapons dumping ground.

They're not supposed to drill there.

Maybe this just isn't a good idea.

McMoRan... har.

-----

The Lomond North ultra-deep prospect, which is located in the Highlander area in St. Martin Parish, LA, is currently drilling below 12,900 feet.

This exploratory well has a proposed total depth of 30,000 feet and is targeting Eocene, Paleocene and Cretaceous objectives below the salt weld.

McMoRan controls rights to approximately 80,000 gross acres in Iberia, St. Martin, Assumption and Iberville Parishes, Louisiana.

Lomond North is approximately 65 miles north of Davy Jones. McMoRan is operator and currently holds a 72.0 percent working interest. Other working interest owners include EXXI (18.0%) and W. A. "Tex" Moncrief Jr. (10.0%).

McMoRan Exploration Co. is an independent public company engaged in the exploration, development and production of natural gas and oil in the shallow waters of the GOM Shelf and onshore in the Gulf Coast area.

Robotic cameras find unknown substance leaking
from Deepwater site in Gulf of Mexico

Several remote-operated vehicles (ROVs) were investigating the recurring sheen found on Gulf of Mexico waters near the MC 252 wellhead.

An unidentified substance inconsistent with oil.....was seen emitting from several areas of the rig wreckage, and samples were collected for further lab analysis.

I think the connection is with the BP oil disaster/Bayou Corne/Superbowl in New Orleans. The Salt Beds/Salt Dome and fracturing of the sea bed.

IMO they are connected (not sure about the football game itself, but N.O. is at risk) When? I have no idea, but it has already started.
