I would say remember not to give up on SOT. We can at least still pray for him.

But at least, you were patient, and still tried to help him. Sometimes I wonder if this is due to your background, or people's background in general. For example, when we get hurt really bad. We can then better relate, understand others, and are more compassionate to others, who also experienced a pain or challenge similar to our own. Since we can better see ourselves in them, and therefore better understand them. Thats excatly spot on. I have been through hell and back..been crushed beyond what I could bear..been heartbroken to the point of death..just by simply losing the will to go on. I know all about pain and injustice..and in those darkest of times..when all was lost..the Lord always sent someone along saying (Its not for your own sake you have been so refined and faced the furnace..its for others..and when you are whole again..help your brethren...for you know what its like to be outcast..betrayed..treated like dirt by your brothers..now when healed..show them the same compassion and patience I have for you" And beleive me..I was SO stubborn..but the Lord was SO patient with me..and he took me though whatever it took..to the lowest depths..to reach down and bring me to His heights. Now in turn I reach down to the bottom of the pits of deception..and heartbreak...and despair..and do unto others..as he has done unto me..which is be stern when needed, to confont the darker spiritual side and break the walls down..yes..but also to be VERY patient and never curse them or condemn them..for he never cursed and condemned me. And beleive me when I say..I did a LOT of things worthy of being cursed and condemned. But The Lord stood by me..and kept lifing me up over and over..and now..thats what I do for others. LIFT them..help them..encourage and strenghten them. Knowing I am not worthy..but that its only HIM..the Lord Yeshuah..and HIS love that got me through..and I have nothing at all of which to boast about...except His vast and unsearchable love for the downcast and ones caught in spritual deception. Just wanted to share something encouraging along the same line. This is from Don Piper, a man who was in a car wreck, and stated, he saw heaven. He was in a really bad, physical condition, and wore a device that helped stretched his bones, during recovery. He stated, he was very depressed during this time, until he felt that he received a message from God. "The only way you're going to get over this, is to decide this morning that from now on, that you're going to help other people get over it, because you'll understand how they feel." So he decided to change the 'test' to a 'testimony'. To change the 'mess' to a 'message'. And instead of saying, God why did you do this to me, to now saying to other people, let me help you up, because I know how you feel. After changing his outlook, he met a boy, who also wore the exact same device, and was able to lift him up, and encourage him, since he too knew how it felt.
