Petition to impeach Diane Feinstein! ....sign it

Petitioning the WH to impeach a Senator is like asking a CEO to fire a member of his board of directors. They are his bosses, and can fire him, not the other way around.

The Executive branch does not initiate impeachment proceedings against a member of the legislature. The flow goes the opposite way. That is done by the Senate against the executive. Reid wouldn't use that proceeding against a sitting senator anyway, if he could, cause she's one of his own, and they are conspiring together to subvert the constitution by destroying the protection of the Bill of Rights.

The proper procedure would be for Reid to initiate Senate hearings for the high crime of conspiring to subvert the Constition. Fat chance of that.

What might work is a recall vote, but that would have to be done in California. Even a successful initiative to get a recall vote might get her attention.

I understand the anger behind the petition, and the desire to let Obama know directly where you stand on Feinstein. Perhaps if she had to face a recall election, that would get his attention.

3. Deport to Israel

Maybe you're looking at the signatures needed until 25,000, which decreases as more people sign it.

A Senator cannot be impeached. The Senate can vote to censure and/or expel a Senator. It won't happen and shouldn't happen to Senator Diane Feinstein.

What would be more effective is for all of you to get in touch with your Senators and ask them to vote in the Leahy or other amendment to the FISA re-authorization that would end/or change the use and/or methodology for warrantless wiretapping.
