LOL you people act like you know him. Oh poor Stormin Norman. He was a great man cause the tv told me so. LOL
 Quoting: myeyesropenow42

Although I did not serve with him and he was twenty years later than I, I had the privilege to share the field with him on a number of occasions. He was a Big Old Teddy Bear of a man and a really nice person. I am truly sad that he is gone, and if he is buried where he belongs I will make it a Point to be there!

I understand your thoughts of those who mourn celebrities and yes you are right on that account. I certainly had no personal relationship with the man, but did share a common bond, and for THAT I honestly have sadness in his passing. I do know men who had served under him and spoke very highly of him as a leader. And no, I do not fault you for your opinion on the matter, most of us that served place a very high value on your rights to hold and express your opinions regardless of what they may be.

Dead Pool 2012
Time for me turn in my picks for the 2012 dead pool. We're allowed 10 picks. Here's my list so far, with a few alternates. Suggestions welcome. The younger they are, the more you score. Amy Winehouse was worth a whopping 73 points!

This is my third year listing Zsa Zsa Gabor. That barnacle won't let go!

Zsa Zsa Gabor
Ronnie Biggs
Ernest Borgnine
Dick Clark
Kirk Douglas
Etta James
Bradley Manning
Olivia deHavilland
Don Pardo
Jerry Sandusky

---

Pope Benedict
Oscar Niemeyer
Lauren Bacall
Lil Wayne
Bono
Annette Funicello

There was an axis of cooperation during Gulf Storm. Bush Sr., Egypt's Mubarack, Israel's Ariel Sharon and one other...does anybody know who it was? I'll give you a hint...he too is dead. Sharon is a vegetable after a stroke in the mid 90's, Bush Sr is dying slowly, Shwarzkopf dies suddenly...and the other guy...well...figure out who he was and you'll know his demise.

At the risk of sounding like a true caveman, your assessment here is ABSOLUTELY true, technology is the tool of the devil and is used for the most part to advance the evil in our midst. However just as a four pound hammer can be used to build a bridge or bash a skull, technology CAN be useful.

The only soul you will be accountable for is your own as I shall be for mine, so yes, the General shall have his day of judgement before God. And in the war business, it cannot be easy to feel confident with your chances, no doubt, but it certainly does still exist as possible and I wish all of ours the best in this regard.
