Texas Secession to be addressed at the 83rd session of Texas Legislature

Before you just up and assume that the entire military might of the US would be brought to bear on Texas, you need to consider how many people from Texas are currently in the military.

Texas has always had an disperportionatly high number of people on active duty.

Freedom is contagious and I'm sure others would heed the calling.

You have to remember though that the military is 80%+ right wing, gun loving, constitution protecting men who will be on the side of the people. In short, they have the mind set more of a Texan than of our government.

True, BUT Mexicans have been coming to Texas for a long long time, and they assimilated, learned English, they intermarried with the locals, they worked, they became educated; they became TEXANS.

At least that was true until the last 5 to 10 years or so. Used to be, the ones that came from Mexico might have been poor but they were decent people and generally accepted by most everyone else, whether they were legal or not.

I've lived in Texas my whole life, 64 years, and I can guarantee you that Texas will never secede from the union. These asswipe state politicians would never give up their gravy train from the Feds and you can count on it. Texas is one of the biggest welfare states around.

Nothing changed, Houston has spanish billboards now. More than half of all children born are hispanic. White is the minority in the state now. Being hispanic doesn't alays mean democrat like the blacks though.
