" . . . as it were burning like a lamp"
First, the Hopi "Blue Star" prophecy is, like so many others, ambiguous. Yes, it refers (historically) to Sirius (the Dog Star) and is heralded as the usher of the emergence into Fifth World. But folks--like the ending date of the Mayan Calendar on 12-21-2012--there's no indication this means some doomsday warning. The "emergence into Fifth World" simply means a shift, a change. And who knows what kind of change? This could be a transition of the human race to a new order of peace, though that peace must be an illusion as Christ hasn't returned yet. If anyone reading or posting here thinks world peace will be achieved without Christ, well, you may be just a tad insane. So I was just curious as to a possible connection between the Blue Star prophecy and the "Wormwood" reference in St. John's Revelation. I'm no doomsday soothsayer nut. But it would make sense that this star "burning like a lamp (or torch)" could be a comet, just as John's "as it were a huge burning mountain was cast into the sea" in the Trumpet Judgment preceding the Wormwood one might be an asteroid or a meteor. But I always come back to the same logic on these matters: there's no way to know if these prophecies are describing something in symbols or metaphors or of they are "literal" descriptions we will recognize if we stay alert and watchful. Usually--99.9% of the time--men don't see the prophecies being fulfilled right before their eyes. This was the case with the predictions from scripture about the suffering Messiah. Only a few saw the scriptures becoming reality, while the rest . . . well, you know what happened. So are we arrogant enough to think WE will know when any of the prophecies of the Hopi, the Maya, much less Biblical ones, are upon us? So you with me here? It makes no difference whether a comet is f----in' AQUA green or blue! That's nitpicking B.S.!!! If it's going to miss us by a mile or four million---BLAH BLAH BLAH. I know one thing: it's clear from history AND from scripture we are going to be quite surprised by the future. The only sure thing is today, and I guess that boils down to doing the best I can with my fellow man in the moment. The Lord will see to the rest. If I try to figure the rest out, it's gonna get way too complicated and time-consuming, and that's time I could be doing something worthwhile for my brothers and sisters who have less. God bless all.
