first I am not a shill. I am a christian who owns guns! but why? I keep going back and forth on the whole issue! 1 is an issue of faith, if i have faith why do i need a gun? 2. Going back to what Jesus said about the end of times!
51 And, behold, one of them which were with Jesus stretched out his hand, and drew his sword, and struck a servant of the high priest's, and smote off his ear.
52 Then said Jesus unto him, Put up again thy sword into his place: for all they that take the sword shall perish with the sword.
53 Thinkest thou that I cannot now pray to my Father, and he shall presently give me more than twelve legions of angels?
54 But how then shall the scriptures be fulfilled, that thus it must be?
the verse in red is referenced to this verse in Genesis 9:6
Whoso sheddeth man's blood, by man shall his blood be shed: for in the image of God made he man.
Meaning if you kill man you are killing God!
It also refers to this verse in revelation: He that leadeth into captivity shall go into captivity: he that killeth with the sword must be killed with the sword.
Now, I am a huge gun advocate, however I am so confused by this.
I think I am going down the wrong path! Can somebody help, I am not a shill, I am looking for spiritual clarification here...?
Quoting: Anonymous Coward 30760504 Among the scriptures you already quoted here's a couple more, followed by my testimony. " (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)" -2 Corinthians 10:4 (KJV) "Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints; And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel, For which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak." -Ephesians 6:10-20 "But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also." -Matthew 5:39 I am also a Christian who when first awakening (by God's will and direction) to what's been going on in the world (I was sound asleep spiritually, and what was going on with the Governments/nwo etc for 22 of my 23 years of my life) I started prepping and bought an AR-15 and a CZ-75 (this is while God was still molding and fashioning me) But then he revealed to me through scriptures and symbols on the Guns to disarm, as this battle is spiritual so I sold them. Not only is one just going to run into more problems when they DO come to take the guns, but also with owning a gun (for defensive purposes etc.) comes the probabilty of use, which does not fit into my credo of 'What Would Jesus Do?' Hope this helps you make the right choice, may God lead you by the Holy Spirit. Peace and God Bless. Quoting: DesignLov3 "But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also."This is getting SOOOO old. STOP taking things out of context. All you are doing, is making yourself look like and ignorant fool. Jesus was speaking of PERSONAL CONFLICTS here. Not instances where someone is trying to cause grievous injury (or death), to you or your family. It's so incredibly simple. God made SELF-PRESERVATION and SELF-DEFENSE the NUMBER ONE INSTINCT, of every plant, fish, and animal!! Please.... Pull your head out! " When a strong man, fully armed, guards his own palace, his goods are in peace." Luke 11:21 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 30996847 I'm not going to argue with you but I will say this. There is no denying the other scriptures that I or OP posted, and furthermore the scripture from Luke you quoted is very much spiritual and not physical. And in Matthew in the scripture I quoted before right before he says "Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth:"(This phrase goes back to ancient Mesopotamian culture that prospered long before the Bible was written or the civilizations of the Greeks or Romans flowered and had to do with physical punishment under Hammurabi's Code.) so I do believe in this case he is talking on a physical plane. Did Jesus fight back when he was persecuted and attacked? Of course not, and as CHRISTians, we are to follow his example. Besides the things of this world passeth away, and true harmony and life the way God intended doesn't start until the millenium/new heaven/earth. Why defend anything of this world? Why defend to stay alive in tyrannical/facist/new world order? Why risk losing eternal reward to defend this temporary painful, physical existence when the Lord has so much to offer those who endureth til the end? All I can say is I have absolute certainty that I was personally being led by God as I saw signs and wonders. I also have reason to believe from your posts that you are not being led by the Holy Spirit. Please do not advocate violence in Jesus Christ Name. Thank you. "But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;" -Matthew 5:44 (KJV) And when they crucified Jesus he said "forgive them father for they know not what they do. -Luke 23:33-4 I am not aware of any saint/disciple of Jesus Christ in the new testament who when persecuted for his faith fought back, but if it exists I encourage you to share the scriptures with me.
