I really was switched at birth. Discovered that when I was fifty, ten years ago. Just published a book - it's on amazon and barnes & noble. "Switched at Birth."

I asked my family to put me up for adoption but they refused. Believe me, it wouldn't have been any worse and could have been better.

You chose to be born into your "family", it's not by some accident or coincidence. Your family members have many lessons and gifts for you, if you're paying attention that is. And the gifts don't always come in shiny wrappings.

Mix up at hospital? But as your family have clothed, fed, roof over your head and got you this far I'd not worry about it. Believe me finding money for housing and food is hard...

decide where you want to be in 5 years, make a plan, start at step 1, and keep going. Revise plan when you see a quicker route or hit obstacles. Once you have this you'll care much less where you are from an care a whole lot more where you are going.

If raising a child was just about providing food and shelter, then you could throw a child in a Mcdonalds and they would be alright.

It's providing support not only financially, but emotionally, intellectually and mentally. It's about passing down lesson to help them ready themselves and cope within this cold ass world. It's about making them stable so they can survive in this world. Unfortunately some parents think its just about giving food and shelter and they neglect the other aspects. That's why we have some kids that grow up with some sort of emotional issue, mental issue, etc.

I believe 65% of how a child turns out rest on the the parents. Why? Because for the first 17 years of a child's life, their brain is clay. And everything that parent does or fails to do helps that clay take form, or lose form.

The other 35% falls on the environment and the choices the child makes during their adolescent years.
