Quoting: Mad Pole He was sick the past few days, which the vet diagnosed as old dog symdrom. I was spending up the nights with him, tending to him. I had checked on him around 6:00 am, he was fine, i looked at him from my chair around 6:10 and he was passed. I am so sad, but I do find resolve thinking about him running around heaven with other souls. And yes, I believe there are animals in heaven. I loved you cricket. I'm so sorry to hear, 17 years was a good, VERY long life for a doggie though. Rest in peace Cricket!! |

My guess is Crick has one eye on you and one eye on playing with those souls greeting him in heaven. Blessings and comfort to you. Muffinheadicus User ID: 15215384 United States 12/28/2012 09:18 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Im sorry Madpole. Losing a friend can be hard. But, he is now no longer suffering. Sometimes it is better to let go of our friend for the benefit of their well being. Think about it, you would not want him to continue living in that body if it is constantly failing him. Rejoice in the wonderful and loving memories you spent together. You have the opportunity now to cherish the good times you guys had together and hold them close to your heart forever. Be encouraged friend. |

He's in dog heaven now, running around in the sparkly fields, young and vital again. Quoting: Miss Malla Weird, I keep seing a yellowish furred labrador kinda dog. Doesn't have to be your dog though. Bless the good memories He was a small mostly black with white terrier. But mayhaps it is a labador dog that cricket is playing with right now. Mommas youngest getting paper like the oldest one.. You will see him and be with him in your dreams. Please take comfort in those visits. Again, I am so sorry for your loss. As an aside, 25 years ago I had a German Shepherd who would come to me and get me when my daughter, a toddler, was about to have a seizure. The dog would then stand over her till it stopped, and then remain there, laying by her side for a long time. Dogs are wonderful souls. |

I lost my beloved cat January 30, 2006 and it was a horrible ordeal for my cat and I. I could not have him put down. He had a huge tumour emerge on his neck and rapidly grow into his spine. I hand fed him, carried him around, and gave him every comforter in my house for resting on and bathroom usage. After he passed naturally on his own, I had a small funeral for him. I bought a large covered hat box, carefully lined it with satin, bought 2 dozen roses, anointed him with oils and put fragrant herbs in with him, along with a cherished photo, prayer cards and a Silver and Turquoise Cross necklace made for me by the Lakota Sioux tribe. I cut some of the white and lavender roses and placed them into the coffin with him. I kept the house very cold and had a wake and viewing. At the wake I played a recurring loop of beautiful songs for him that I burned to a special Memorial CD for him. I invited friends and had the wake and funeral the day after his death. We buried him at a beautiful field overlooking the intracoastal under a Live Oak tree. Everyone had tears in their eyes at his burial. For me, it made the grief less severe by giving him a proper funeral. I cried for months and had several dreams about him that entire year. GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR WONDERFUL FRIEND CRICKET! *caps for emphasis not shouting :) Last Edited by ArcanoExAngelos on 12/28/2012 09:31 AM |

I hope what I'm getting ready to say is comforting to you, because it was comforting to me when I lost my 20 year old cat Dixie... Cricket did not die alone. You and he were together when he passed peacefully away. What an awesome life he had with you for 17 years. He knew he was loved. Again, I'm so sorry. |
