The Unpardonable Sin
In the recent past, my nightmares have grown increasingly more powerful. I am tormented by visions of hell, and have the feeling that I am denied forgiveness.

For anyone that knows or would dare to venture a guess, what is the nature of the unpardonable sin? I am both confused and scared, and would not like to spend the rest of my life in this state.

Re: The Unpardonable Sin
If a member of the community sins unintentionally and does what is forbidden in any of the LORD's commands, he is guilty. Leviticus 4:27 … One and the same law applies to everyone who sins unintentionally, whether he is a native-born Israelite or an alien. Numbers 15:29

But anyone who sins defiantly, whether native-born or alien, blasphemes the LORD, and that person must be cut off from his people.

... Mark 3:29 but he who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit never has forgiveness, but is subject to eternal condemnation.

Matthew 7:21 Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter.

... Why do you call me, 'Lord, Lord,' and do not do what I say? Luke 6:46

... Luke 8:21 He replied, "My mother and brothers are those who hear God's word and put it into practice.

... 17Now that you know these things, you will be blessed if you do them. John 13

... 22Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?’ 23Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’ Matthew 7

Yes, even that, if you go to God humbly and with a broken spirit.

And in the interest of time, I'm gonna cut to the chase in this thread.

Intellectually pursuing God will only give you more anxiety and turmoil. Drop the Intellectualism and just humble yourself and cry out to Him. He will hear you before you even get the words out of your mouth.

Faith like a child is all it takes.

And He will give you peace.

Re: The Unpardonable Sin
Your fear of not being able to recover from this is the culprit of your state of mind and nightmares.
There is no single recipe to recover from this.
I had very different opinions about things few years ago. Sometimes people notice this and ask:
''Didn't you think differently before?''
To which I reply:
''Of course. It would be very sad for so much time to have passed, but still cling to those crippled views.''

We change and we grow every moment. We are not the person we used to be yesterday. The change might be slight, but it is there. And you have the power of will and doing to expose yourself to new stimuli, new ideas and way of thinking, doing, subject yourself to a greater change over a shorter time-frame.
You have to recognize that you are not the person you were when you did it and move as far away from that path, way of thinking as you can. Never look or go back, although you will be tempted, but it will get easier over time. Embrace your new life, new self and forgive that person of the past for what he did as he didn't know any better and has payed the price, understood the lesson.
This will pass! Do not doubt it! The fact that you regret this, that you fell despise for that kind of an action shows that you are not the same person. Move on. It will get better, just take what life force you have left and throw your life off the path you were on. Try a different life.
Art gives people great refuge - why not dive into that? Anyone can. Try anything, just move away from the past lifestyle, past way of thinking, past actions and interactions.
Every situation let's us learn something about us. Treat your suffering and your action as a lesson about you and human nature, accept the lesson and forgiveness to yourself will become easy.

Answers given above re the sin of denying the Lord, that he would not save you.

To counter the nightmares try to do the Divine Mercy Chaplet every day. Only takes about 10 minutes to do.

I think you will see a big change.

We will be forgiven exactly the same as we forgive others.

If you are holding onto forgiveness (and this does require lots of soul searching and prayer to find) you are allowing the enemy an open door.

Most Christians do not understand the DEPTHS of Christ's love because they do not/cannot forgive others.

Evolution is not a fairytale, but it is easier and more comforting to believe something else. If what you believe is something of a religous nature, well, that belief can also be very profitable, so while you think your putting your treasures up in heaven, you can also get a pile stacked up here and live a hell of a pleasureable life.

There is only one way to commit the unpardonable sin...

Stand before the spurious Messiah, the anti-christ, Lucifer himself, and, deny the Holy Spirit to speak through you when you open your mouth.

THAT, My Friend...IS THE ONLY WAY one can commit the unpardonable sin.

Most that I know want that opportunity to stand AND ALLOW the Holy Spirit to speak through them.

What a blessing, what an honor, what a bless-ed miracle!

Praise God, Thank You Jesus!

...Dude, when I talk to the Lord, I ask Him in Jesus Name to forgive me of all my sins, my shortcomings. That way when I am talking with Him I'm not as dirty rags to Him. Repent and get goin' with your conversation with God today.

Have you accepted Jesus as your Personal Saviour?
If so, then repent, and go before the Lord.

I repent when I feel I need to repent, allowing my heart and my conscience be my guide.

OP,

Once I was incarcerated for committing a crime as a juvenile.

As I went to sleep the first few nights, on one of the nights I had a vision, not really a dream. I was taken to a throne room where there was who I understood to be Satan, sitting on a throne in an empty room. He didn't even know I was there until I came closer, at which point he sort of looked up at me.

At this point I hear him ask me "why are you here" and I communicate in my mind what my crime and charges were.

He then proceeded to laugh his ass off at me, and I was whisked away back to sleep, only to wake up feeling like the devil was laughing at me because he was able to get me to commit crime.

When I saw him on the throne in an empty room, he looked like a bad guy from an old nintendo game, ninja gaiden, although it wasn't so clear to me:

[link to www.gamefaqs.com]

or maybe something like this:

[link to 3.bp.blogspot.com]

So, this proved to be a warning to me, and it scared me straight for awhile. But this was not the time when I cried out to The LORD to save me.

Several years later, I was a career criminal and I had reached a plateau in life. I couldn't even get out of bed anymore to go baby sit for $300 an hr, so I knew something was not right. Also the girl I was working with at the time had unintentionally indicated to me that she was not actually in control of herself. One night when she looked over at me in bed and asked if I was ready to go get this money, It was her but it really wasn't her, and I nearly shatted.

It was after these things I realized I could not progress in life, as I had hit the ceiling. And while brushing my teeth in the sink that evening, I began to cry out to The LORD in my heart, and I began to weep as I said " i dunno what I am doing, I am so scared.. I have all this and everybody is happy but things are not right, I know this is wrong but I am trapped! Please Lord, if you are there, Please Help ME!"

(I get tears just thinking of this)

It was at this very moment something happened: A quickening had overcame my body immediately, and I was shaking uncontrollably, in fear. I was scared that The LORD actually HEARD my prayer!! I got myself together and crawled into bed, and put it behind me.

Within a few days, things began to change in my life as my life of crime was beginning to come apart. Soon there after, an exit strategy was given to me by The LORD, who saw fit for me to escape the life of sin.

Now, I am living a much more quality life and am a shining example to others who may be in similar situations.

Recently, within the past 3 weeks, The LORD came to visit me in person, while I was just sitting at the computer. He told me that He is to be called LORD or The LORD, and that I need to bring people to Him.

If you are curious to know how this came about, I'd love to share it with you, as this realization I had just prior to The LORD coming to comfort me is a realization we all need to be aware of.
