Certainly, an Elephant is merely an advanced cephalopod that has grown calloused tentacles long enough to reach the ground. The nose is an adapted tentacle and the skeleton is formed from recyclable calcium based nanotech. This is the purpose of Elephant Graveyards. Nanotech mainframe retrieval.

Were an Elephant Graveyard desecrated by unruly capitalists in search of trophies, interstellar Elephant War would inevitably commence. And seeing as the cephalopodic empire spanned 99.999% of all time in the universe's scale, it would surely end badly for fungal monkeys.

Could such a war be avoided indefinitely? As many of the 'fungal monkeys' as you call them, are quite talented and have much to offer.


It seems, in such a case of easily being overrun, that one would takes steps to avoid said.

Having no understanding of the type of weaponry which could theoretically be at the disposal of a giant land squid, it would be difficult to plan for before hand.

Don't hold your breath...

Elephants are uniformly gray as opposed to multichromatic not for purposes of camouflage but as an outright affront to all color loving luminescent organisms.

You see, certain issues of protocol led a rebellion of squids to the dryest portions of the universe. The spaces between stars.

Cephalopods are intelligent beyond monkey understanding, with skin to skin-information transference rates that would make fiber optic lines envious. When a beautiful mind is exposed to the desert of the human soul, it feels obligated to devote it's existence to the eradication of all that seeks to eradicate itself.

We had a baby elephant born at our zoo recently. I noted how they were touching each other in the vid.

They sound somewhat benevolent if their will is to 'right, wrongs'.

While lotion rubbing patterns can convey information in the same way that bees dance to share their past it is not necessary. Merely a formality.

The first lotions were made from crushed up bananas, which are an Elephant War holdover from ancient Earth. This is why they are found on virtually every continent today.

Electrogalvanic skin response is observed to be an important part of fungal monkey propagation rituals and therefore Elephants oblige. Also this is a rather large planet as they go in the inky blackness between the sources of water/light.

As far as morality goes, any planet which doesn't embrace Elephants is obviously bananas.
