well its the first here in Keflavík and most of the southwest has not got any snow until to day but most of the west fjords north and east have been covered in snow sins November

Thanks for the post, OP. Stay safe and warm. Did you not have an epic storm as recently as September when thousands of sheep were buried? I was just reading in the Iceland Review that they are compensating the farmers and that the public are giving donations as well. I know it's winter and it's Iceland but it seems odd. More evidence of that polar vortex ocurring also in Russia and Asia. And in Canada too.

Thanks and will do. Yea we had a storm in September but this is gona be much worse and so far there have been 7 avalanches so far most on the roads but there are warnings for all towns in west fjords and up north.

Things to do in Iceland when snowstorm hits :

Hazard declared a large area.

I expect to see Reykjavik taking a battering given the city is facing North towards the onslaught.
