UPDATE: Snow storm coming our way to morrow (Iceland)

yes this is a very nasty big storm!

Shovelling lots of snow is a beeatch, no matter its nationality.

Here too but they're saying we won't get much snow with one weather scenario but we will with another. I get headaches with snow coming so I think maybe either its going to be big.

Yea its a strange combination, and all livestock has been taken care of after the storm in September so they are save and the people are getting prepared

We have to go back to January 16. 1995 to find a comparable weather storm.

Pressure lines have often been equally tight across the country and in the notorious weather that caused a huge avalanche fjords. Weather personnel on Hveravellir could not get out to read the meters. The weather was a little mud for days in the Northwest and hugely much snowed throughout most of the north and west of the country.

its been snowing all day and for most of the night and the wind is starting to pick up in west fjords. I'm at a small town near the Blue Lagoon and no wind here at the moment.

True. This is an extreme event. Of course they used to snow but for Iceland this is dangerous.
