Snowstorms are common in Iceland with gale force winds.
Refreshing weather compared to the non weather in some areas of the world like California.

OP, make sure you have more supplies than you think you need. Saved us a lot of trouble during Superstorm Sandy, when stores, banks and gas stations were closed for days. Stay safe and warm!

We could tell Al Gore though. Maybe he could set a tax so that we will not see snow storms anymore.

90% of Iceland is very desolate and not fit for human habitation. It is a windy and cold place in the north Atlantic. In addition to the often extreme weather the island is highly volcanic and prone to earthquaqes. Despite all this it is my favorite place on earth.

flower

I've visited Iceland and loved it. Bathed in the blue lagoon, visited the plant created to use the warm water from beneath, clubbed in Reykjavik.

You'll survive this snow as we just survived our great snow storm recently. We like it. Give us snow storms please! :))

Lamppost defeated

In Miðstræti at Bolungarvík a lamppost that has been struggling to stay upright in the weather which have been going on in the Northwest over the past days.

It was Halldóra Jónasdóttir who watched the pole fall across the street and took a picture of the lamppost.
