I first saw the video about two weeks ago. I noticed people making reference to the word "Gangnam", so I purposely maintained my ignorance (a personal act of rebellion) - not an easy task, but eventually I got sucked in.

DEFINITELY, this is not just about fake view counts or "Likes", this extends to ALL forms of "social" media/interaction on the web.. Especially when I see an article exposing government corruption, for example, and the Comments section is full of people saying "who cares?"...

Why aren't they banning these companies videos and accounts?

Yeah, they did that to my brother and a lot of other people I know and have read about got their entire channels deleted for sharing too many messages and trying to advertise their stuff. All the views were real and they weren't "cheating." Merely using the "share video" tool youtube uses in its own interface...

My bro only had about 900 subscribers, so he wasn't anything super big, but there was a lot of work and time he put into it. Then it got yanked just like that. Somehow I didn't get touched though.

But apparently big corporations, labels and acts can mass fraudulent views and not only keep their channels but their partnership and money making ads.
