(j/k) The Chinese government shows us capitalism on steroids. I don't shop Walmart just because of this. (I know Walmart is far from the only one) It is difficult to do the right thing all of the time. Do the best you can and forgive yourself for any shortfalls. Be filled with joy in the knowing that you are the light and love of the one Infinite Creator. |

There are too many millions of other people who will keep on shopping there for the savings. A few people boycotting the store is a great ego boost for them but really not productive. If someone is passionate enough about the issue, maybe they should get involved. Write some letters. Try to change it? |

This is kind of bigger news than "Will she touch my pecker?" You ought to be ashamed of yourselves. Anyway OP, to offer you some legitimate content, this isn't the first time I've heard of this. A friend of mine worked for Home Depot and they found a note with poor English handwriting that simply read, "Please help, we are hungry." He tried to bring it to his supervisor to forward it to the WHRO and they said, "Oh, we get these all the time, we know what to do with them." They threw it away in the trash in front of him, and told him if he tried to speak out against what they were doing to ignore the notes they would fire him immediately. They go through months and months of hard work and trying to hide in secrecy that they are attempting to learn English, because many factories would not want them to. It is truly sad, I am glad to see that this kind of incident is finally being brought up by the MSM, but I'm not sure what good it does. This is the vision they have for the U.S., cheap labor, you taking a sweatshop job because you'd probably literally kill for a slice of bread. It's already happening. I know people struggling with unemployment who have agreed to illegal, below minimum wage pay in what you would call America's sweatshops because they feel they have no other choice. It is disturbing, and I do have to wonder if this was intentional, outsourcing everything in the U.S. to China. It is finally causing a chain reaction they might like quite a lot, people willing to do anything for humiliating treatment and pay. I know that some people may lash out at my post, tell me we are "lazy Americans" and would never agree to shoveling shit for less than what we feel we deserve. But that is propaganda meant to divide and conquer all of us. The truth is that I already know people who are taking these terrible, illegal jobs. The truth is people want to work, even at a terrible price, because without work we feel useless, depressed, and suicidal. I don't agree to work in things like Fast Food, retail, or etc, mostly because I have an ethical upset regarding these industries. I am often called "lazy," "entitled," "spoiled," and whatever other label you want to throw at me. But at the end of the day, I simply don't agree to working in horrible conditions, pushing products that harm people globally and products that make us fat and stupid. I'd gladly work on a local farm with well treated animals feeding the world properly. |

If you have just one break in the week, and your payment cant cover your basic needs cost, such rent, water light bills, clothes, good food, fun, medical care etc. So you is a slave Also if your payment is enough, but you have no time to enjoy the life, so you is a volunteer slave, because you are selling your life, and this have no price. |

I'd gladly work on a local farm with well treated animals feeding the world properly. I guess I was wrong in my above post, I said its an ego boost for people to dismiss these store and not shop at these stores. If you can prevent shopping there, that's great really maybe for promoting our own growth. And if someone has a strong moral reason then maybe its best to avoid them too if they have the means to do so. But I still stand by the fact that millions of people will continue to shop at Walmart and other Chinese manufactured retail stores. Even with the knowledge that these people are mistreated. It's really just quite a dilemma. You don't want to aid the problem, but many can't avoid shopping there. Like you I think it's great to see someone in mainstream reporting on this, and like you I wonder what good it would actually do. Probably not much. Just a little reminder how the world works. I have to criticize too, the only reason this probably got picked up by the Huffington Post is because of the strangeness of it, some woman got a letter in the packaging of a product. It's not being reported to shed light really on the actual problem, its the way the letter was received that sparked interest. |

Yea, I think that's pretty spot on. Whether we are comfortable in riches or struggling in rags, we are all part of a system. Can't escape it, can only mask it. We're all slaves in some way. |
