Does not appeared it has grown as much as the doom tards said it was, I think this will stop growing at any week now and become a non event like the Gulf oil spill..

There is a vid there from 12/21, that shows the middle of the sinkhole looking like there is a giant fishtank bubbler under it! Reports from TX Brine, also posted on that site, said the bubbling was from natural gas, and that oil was actually boiling up also. But the clean-up crews were off until after Christmas. They also reported that a line dropped in the middle of the sinkhole measured a depth of 410'.

If you go to that site, you can see earlier vids and photos taken. Make note of the worksite where the long scoop was cleaning out debris in OP's vid. There used to be a packed dirt road extending out into the sinkhole - but it's not there any more! Go research for yourself.

Unfortunately,this isn't going away. The people are still mostly out of their homes, the water table is still ruined, there is no known means to correct this problem or even halt it's progress. In fact, the oil companies are still getting permits to drill nearby, and fewer and fewer reports of the status of the sinkhole are being made available. Until it all gives way and causes a huge catastrophe, tptb would much rather this stays out of sight, out of mind!!!

The ground must be very sandy there.

And actually, for the poster a few replies back, it's on top of a salt dome that has been drilled out and that is now dissolving. And the dome is over 5,000 ft deep. There are several threads on glp already that give a lot of info about this. It's a catastrophe developing, and seems to have no happy ending in sight.

I've done research on this subject. It has been a wake up call for me to understand what fracking is and the chemicals that are used to frack, as well as what "carbon sequestration" is all about.

Could someone explain the reason for the concern here? What is the hazard of this sinkhole?

There's a possibility that if the entire salt dome fails then all the land on top of it will drop in. Add in all the chemicals/gasses stored inside that would be released into the atmosphere, and we have a big problem on our hands. That's some danger, I'd say.

There's like billions of gallons of butane stored in the salt dome next to the one that collapsed...if it ruptures it could get ugly real fast, plus from what I understand there is radioactive waste in the one that's breaking up.

And that's a best case scenario.
