Abord the spacecraft, amongst many others, there is the following one:
Electric Field Instruments (EFI) which reportedly is designed and built to sense the electric field in Earth's ever-changing magnetosphere.

Maybe OP could review his opinion and take into account that this truly might be sun related after all PRIOR to dismiss it completely.... apparently, THEMIS "found evidence of magnetic ropes connecting Earth's upper atmosphere directly to the sun".

Then maybe whatever is provoking these cycles might be coming from the sun after all, althoug in a way or form we are yet unable to see and/or measure.....

Still from wikipedia: "The Sun is a magnetically active star...." and further on "...All matter in the Sun is in the form of gas and plasma because of its high temperatures...", yeah PLASMA.

This would lead/point in the direction of something more related to what many talk/discuss about a "magnetic universe".

Then I stumbled over a paper called "MAGNETIC PULSATIONS: THEIR SOURCES AND RELATION TO SOLAR WIND AND GEOMAGNETIC ACTIVITY".... lol @ myself as I have NO CLUE what I was reading until skipping to page 4 !!!! Just watch the figure no. 5..... OMG
So, from what I understand... LOL again... sorry, it might be "waves" originating in space/sun propagating along/across the magnetic field until they reach the ionosphere where they drive the electrical currents that radiate pure electromagnetic waves.

Then, there is this paper from 2005 (!!) of the Max-Planck-Gesellschaft named "The Pulse of the Sun"..... (Source: [link to www.mpg.de]
which I confess I DID NOT READ yet, but it gave me more hints about oscillations rather than pulsations.... although they deal with "a number of modes of oscillation on Alpha Centauri" you get the idea.


Then I read about Robert Baker, from the University of New England who claims to have found a strong relationship between the rhythmic pulsing of the sun's magnetic field and weather systems, particularly in the southern hemisphere. He did state this in relation to rainfalls in Australia and said the sun appeared to follow a longer-term magnetic cycle of about 80 years, meaning it might be possible to predict floods and droughts for the next 30 years based on historical records from the mid-1920s.

Also interestingly is that the sun's magnetic field is shaped as "Parker Spiral" (source: [link to en.wikipedia.org] which might indeed explains WHY and WHEN Earth's position on it would be such as to trigger these magnetic effects.... anyone with skills could do an animation or research about earth/sun/jupiter's orbital plane positions on the above dates such as to re-elaborate a 3D version of the "heliospheric current sheet" of this Parker Spiral..... ;)

Thus, I find it hard to believe that any celestial body EXCEPT FOR THE SUN would have an orbit that would even nearly come close to earth in a fashion such as to have any influence causing similiar distortions to our magnetic field.

Planetary conjunctions? Errr, maybe, but I'd rather view such only as "capable of increasing" the effect of the cause, but not being the cause themselves.

where they talk about "...energetic ions with sulfur-rich composition traceable to Io's volcanism originated 150 ± 40 RJ antisunward of the planet and were recurrently released and funneled by the magnetic field down the magnetotail..."

So maybe some astronomically more prepared GLPers could be of more use looking into that.....

OP I think you are onto something. Take a look at this link and tell me this doesn't make sense.
Read the description that this person theorizes. His dates aren't correct but his idea of how a body would affect us makes sense. We most likely have a Twin sun. This could be a Dark Star. His theory makes a lot of sense and would explain this yearly occurance as it passes. If you do some internet research you will find The Earth is not the only thing being affected, the whole Solar system is.

OP. Have you watched Brad Metslers show on History called Apocolyse 2012 now. The whole show was about the Magnetic Ribbon. The Rift and the Sun and the Rip in the magnetoshere.

No Hype. No Bias really and put together with a whole lot of scientific data.

No offense intended here but I felt that Brad Meltzer show you are referencing really sucked... It was a watered-down rehash of several topics that History channel has already covered and in more detail on previous shows/documentaries. The show spent more time interviewing bunker owners and 'preppers' than it did covering any of the actual interesting topics in detail. I had expected better and was disappointed after I finished watching.

Question for someone how has read all 10 pages of this thread... Has there been any speculation on what it could be on the same day each year that would cause all this?

Do those days correspond to meteor showers?

Are those the days that earth is directly between the sun and the ENA ribbon, or other annual alignment such as the galactic ecliptic or center? thanks.

I looked into data NASA provided to see if anything (pre say alignments) would match up with all the dates and nothing has matched up with everything.

I'm now more concerned as looking into the future based upon what we do know, not what we don't.
That time frame is now approaching....

OP.....since you say it will be worse this year when it comes around, than why is it so quiet now???? If this "body" is getting closer, our planet should be getting worse by the day and showing more signs of an approaching body or whatever it is. Period. Cosmic rays constantly bombard earth and cause these fluctuations you speak of. Unless you give evidence for years and years of the past, than nothing unusual is going on. You gave evidence only for a few years and thats it.
