whatever you do,
don't waste time with a traditional martial art.

find a mixed martial art gym in your area and join that.

none of the other crap works.
mma or a gun, it's that simple.

I strongly disagree with this. Traditional martial arts are a great way to keep in shape. Great for you physically and mentally.

It's not what style you know, it's who you are as a person that mainly determines the outcome of a confrontation.

Besides, if you're an average guy in an average neighborhood, chances are, you won't be in a situation to "test your skills."
