If You Think this Republican Bull Pucky Isn't Going to Effect YOU Think Again Think the Farm Bill
5a

When the House left before Christmas it gave us all a lump of coal as a present! The Repo majority to a person refused to vote on the new Farm Bill. This Bill amongst other things pays for last summers crop insurance/establishes subsidies/provides insurance for this year as well as a host of other farm related items including the FOOD STAMP PROGRAM. The FOOD STAMP PROGRAM benefits those who live below the poverty level especially those that have children. The stupid fucking REPOS are playing with fire here. We are already hearing of MILK priced at $8 a gallon and that is just the tip of the iceberg. Farmers decimated by last summers drouth who have crop insurance claims will not be able to buy seed for this years crop leading to far lower production and skyrocketing prices which we will ALL PAY so that these MORONS can ply their ideology.

Call your Congress Critter and tell them to get this damn bill PASSED NOW!

By the way don't give me any bull shit about misuse of funds by a small percentage of those recipients being any kind of excuse here. I have noted that the same person who rails against any form of gun control usually is the first one to step up and use the above excuse to defend their position re gun control. I am one of the first to defend 2nd Amend rights and I can't for the life of me see how anyone who takes that position can turn around and defend the Republican controlled Houses position on food stamps.

I assume that depends upon whether you believe in "strict construction" or "loose interpretation". My answer would be if you use the Necessary and Proper Clause it certainly provides a basis.

Using your logic nothing would ever get accomplished because we would throw the baby out with the bathwater. Look laws are not perfect especially when special interests are allowed to continue buying votes, but you don't deep six a basically reasonable piece of legislation on that basis. No, I do not mean corporate farms. I mean individually owned family farms. And, by the way, why should taxpayers subsidize "corporate corn" in the U.S. to be grown for the production of ethanol to use as fuel? The energy used in its production is more than the energy(fuel) it saves to use it. Plus, the fed gov subsidizes the corn to make it(our tax dollars), then taxes us at the pump to burn it. Fuck off.

Using your logic nothing would ever get accomplished because we would throw the baby out with the bathwater. Look laws are not perfect especially when special interests are allowed to continue buying votes, but you don't deep six a basically reasonable piece of legislation on that basis. That is the same thinking as banning all guns because some nut chooses to use one.

"My logic", my ass. You're the dumbfuck claiming farmers can't plant next spring because crop insurance hadn't been paid. Don't try to deflect from your ignorance.

Op,

Do you even know what is in the farm bill you re merely braying from the perspective of the kept and their government keepers by the way it is Farm bill S. 3240 do look it up.

The Farm Bill was the carrier of rather distasteful laws that the left wanted to slide by and they employed their usual tactics of it is their fault not ours.

Thanks for the citation. If you read it completely you will note as of Oct. 29 3.9 of the 6.5 bil had been PAID OUT. This means slightly less than 1/2 had remained at that point unpaid. That is what I have referenced.
