Re: Who wants free electricity?
what about just getting 7 altenators spinning at the same time. That adds up to almost 110 DC. You could just switch to DC lighting. Strip a car out. One alternator runs the radio, lights, heater blowerbox, and all the other stuff in a running car. Don't go AC, go DC. Might be cheaper than you think.

Alternators are AC. Ya know, they 'alternate'. You can't series AC current.

The lack of basic electric knowledge in here is amusing.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 23755869

But all modern alternators have built in rectifiers (diodes).

Did you see the weight generator the other day posted here?

The one that ran the led light.

Think of that on a bigger level attached to a generator that puts out enough volts to run your home.

Instead of one weight just going down once. You need a double weight system with a gearing system in the cable pully. Once one weight goes down while pulling the other weight back up , then the system shifts gears making the weight at the bottom liter , thus its continual motion of up and down.

The generator will turn forever.

With gearing you can make 200 pounds feel like 5 pounds.

The weights will just see saw each other all day long.

You can builds a transformer onto the generator that regulates the electricity to 110 volts etc.
 Quoting: ChickenLittleMessiah

You're such a simpleton. Your idea is akin to plugging an electric motor into a generator that is being driven by the electric motor.

Conservation of energy. Read up on it.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 23755869

what?

I wont be plugging in anything. Electricity from generators having nothing to do with the motor turning the generator turbine.

In electricity generation, an electric generator is a device that converts mechanical energy to electrical energy

The mechanical energy im talking about will be a weight and pulley perpetual motion system.

But oh well it don't matter.
 Quoting: ChickenLittleMessiah

Lol.... and how do you plan to overcome the inefficiencies in the system? Mainly, friction.

it will work on multiple sets of gearing cogs and electricity generators don't have much resistance. I will get my preferred rmp's. Even with slow moving weights.

They don't have compression like a gas engine. They just spin on magnetos. They could be oil filled , and huge but then ill just have to make it really big and use 1 ton weights.

What your describing is a perpetual motion machine. There have been many attempts at this before. A few have claimed to have mastered it. When I was going to school for electrical engineering I was intrigued by the idea but failed to come up with a working model myself. I did figure out how to generate free electricity utilizing radio waves but there are many models of this already on the internet.peace

you don't need to. Years ago there was a long time advert on a switch box and some wires and after you installed it you could run your engine up to about 2000 rpm and power your skil saw or drill too far away from the house to run an extension cord.
I think if you tried this today you would have to replace the diodes and you would have to go inside the alternator for some of your wiring because voltage regulators are inside the alternator now.

The problem is people having to figure out the one gear cog that runs the "back and forth weight motion cog" into a single spinning cog motion in one direction to complete the generator gearing system. You need a cork screw type gear for that... like a spinning top uses " the kids toy".

Are you sure this isn't just an inverter?

You would have to completely rewire an alternator from a car to output 60hz and even then you would have to keep the rpm steady to not burn out any 110+ AC motors attached.

I'm going to have to agree with chicken little. The coeficient of gravity alone would cause problems with this theory and be more specific when speaking about generators becuase many generators do have substantial resistance .

You can't overcome the effects of entropy. Perpetual motion is impossible because of entropy. Even the universe itself is (theoretically) governed by the same forces of nature. The expansion of the last 13.7+/- billion years may go on for as many more or longer, but one day the movement will cease much like a cell expanding until the resistance of the surrounding cells stop it's growth, or limit its footprint. In the case of the universe, assuming expansion is not stopped by other dimensional membranes, and empty space is without friction, then the universe would overcome entropy and be the only true perpetual motion.

If your point is about keeping pulses of DC synchronized then the capacitor is your friend. We're dealing with the output of a generator not the internals so inductance really doesn't apply here.

what about just getting 7 altenators spinning at the same time. That adds up to almost 110 DC. You could just switch to DC lighting. Strip a car out. One alternator runs the radio, lights, heater blowerbox, and all the other stuff in a running car. Don't go AC, go DC. Might be cheaper than you think.

Unity is our greatest ally..
For this is the way we will rise out of the ashes that is sure to come...
