I really want to do this, but my wife and nosy neighbors will think I'm crazy, what dies your family think about this?

Is the 4x4 access tunnel abandoned and back filled now? Or us it the underground escap hatch?

What did you do with all the dirt? Had to be 100 cubic yards!!!!

Are you worried about undermining the house foundation??

My family thought it was crazy at first but now they love it and add to it. the tunnel is filled now the room is 2 foot underground except hallway under closet. There was a embankment at the foundation were my access hole was now there is 15 ft by 40ft of more backyard now! I did not under mine the foundation i stay inside the footing by 8 inches as we back filled we would add dirt and satturate it with water more dirt more water. so the back fill is very compacted.
